Day 15 of 30 Days of Creativity: Unique and Modern Wire Wrapped Watch

Today is Day 15 of the 30 Days of Creativity challenge. We are halfway there, and I am having so much fun. I also am one step closer to creating a wire wrapped watch, that I absolutely love. This one is just six inches long, and fits me perfectly, so yep you guessed it, it is mine. I may list it, let it run one cycle, if no one buys it, I will be more than happy to wear it myself. I am going to try to make a larger version over the weekend. I only have one watch face left. And am getting low on wire too. I hate to buy new supplies until I exhaust what I already have. It is the frugal in me. If you all go and buy some stuff, in my Etsy store, then I can buy lots of supplies, lol! Anyway this watch uses two different colors of wire, silver and like a mauvy peach color. It is weaved to make the band. You can weave tighter or looser, I like them both, but tighter is kind of not as modern looking. I made the one end of the band into a ball, so it could connect and hold in place both sides. Wire is funny. This particular craft wire is very flexible and pliable, so it doesn't always hold its shape real awesome like. Stiffer wire holds excellent, but is extremely difficult to work with, and in my opinion harsh to look at. I am a softer, gentler kind of lady. Tell me what you think. Don't be shy now.

Red, White and Blue Lever Back Dangle Earrings

All right today is day 14 of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge, but it is also Flag Day, here in the states. I didn't honestly even know it was Flag Day. We just had Memorial Day, and then next month is the 4th of July. Do we really need this many holidays? Anyway, this is my first real attempt at wire wrapping earrings. If you used head pins, they can be pretty easy. However, headpins are not easy to wrap, matter of fact I don't even have any fingernails left. These are made with red coral beads, blue freshwater pearls, and white Swarovski glass pearls. Then they are hung off of a lever back style earring, that has a cute heart on it. They are gold tone and silver tone, I like to combine colors. I am going to list these in my Etsy store right now. Be sure to check out all my other awesome items. I have two pairs of these available.

Day 13 of 30 Days of Creativity: Painting on Blue Bottles

Holy Craftman! Everyone got in on the action today! Today is day 13 of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge. Every two weeks, since last Sept. we have been having painting class. My mom is the teacher, but we all kind of have learned our own likes and styles, but she still comes every two weeks and we paint. I love these blue bottles. Aren't they awesome? Unfortunately beer comes in them, so I have to drink the beer to get the bottle. It is actually quite delicious beer, lol! I will try to explain what they all are. The first blue bottle, is actually Caitlin's. She asked me to paint this cute little polar bear on hers, so I did. He is so cute! Now I have to paint more of them, ha ha. The blue bottle with the frog is mine. It has the frog on one side, and the beautiful red cardinal on the other. There is a sun, and little fat bird as well. The third blue bottle, my mom did, and she always does flowers of some kind. She picked shades of white for hers, giving it a lovely frosty look. She also finished her vase, which will be listed in my Etsy store, most of these items will be eventually. She also painted the two spoons shown. DJ finished his sailboat, which came out quite lovely indeed. I need to get him a frame. Caitlin painted the cute little dog, and I did the little spray bottle which will be listed in my store. I think that covers everything.

Seeing Red and A 4H Scrapbook

The kids and I began a project today, and I finished a project today. Let's start with the misfit deer painting, that I completed. oh I loved this concept of a silhouette in a color other than black. So I made a very red moon, and a yellow deer silhouette. I was so proud of it. That is until my son pointed out to me that deer antlers originate from only two spots on their head. OK so I got lost in the painting and didn't pay attention. He is a misfit deer, with an extremely large head, good thing with antlers all across it, LOL! I will list him for sale because I think he is very original, unique and I love him. I will try this one again, paying better attention to his antlers. DJ is the Historian for his 4H group. That means he is responsible for making the scrapbook for the end of the year. Well the year has ended. Even though this is not due until August, I do not believe in procrastinating. Since I am cheap, yes I said it. I had no intentions of spending a fortune on this scrapbook. Besides, I looked at tons and could not find one scrapbook that encompassed all that we covered. So, I bought card stock that DJ picked, some cute stickers that I will not share yet, and then printed off a very large clover. The kids then traced the clover onto the card stock, and cut them out. I will not share how we will put this together until we get to that step. Next I have to print the pictures, and get the rest of the supplies. This will be adorable, I hope. Oh, by the way I forgot to mention, all this is for day 12 of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge.
