Teal and Orange African Butterfly Acrylic Painting

I love butterflies!  I have decided to do a new set of paintings of butterflies.  I also want to do some holiday gift bags, and still drawing with my children.  So, I have a lot of Art in my future.  I am also working on a Tiger stripe blanket.  This is an African butterfly.  It only lives there, and I so wish it would visit my yard.  But, I can still appreciate its beauty in my art work.  The only thing I did not consider is whether Forget me Nots grow in Africa.  It is signed and dated, and available in my Etsy store.  All my paintings are originals and one of a kinds.  If I do decide to paint something twice, it will not be the same as the original.

Team Support and Promote Blogs With Me

This is a new feature that I have started on the Team Support and Promote threads on Etsy.  If you would like to join the group, just click the link and apply to join.  This week I have three lovely, handmade products to share with you.  Great for gift giving, or treat yourself.  I will be doing this team thread, for bloggers, at least once a month, and will try to get in two a month.  The first item would be awesome for back to school, those who like to buy and donate to Operation Christmas Child or maybe your local schools.  The second item, is actually a painting done by me of a Monarch butterfly.  Give it to the butterfly lover in your circle.  Shelley's adorable hand towel with delicious citrus fruits would look lovely in any kitchen.  Click the links below each product to visit their stores, and purchase, or window shop.

Pink Turtle Zentangle Abstract Art Original Painting

Now that my children, and I, are almost done with this homeschooling year, I am hoping to pick up my blogging a bit more for this blog. I mentioned a few posts ago, that I had joined a Zentangle Group on Facebook. Each week we are given a challenge to do. This one is actually from two weeks ago. You get to interpret the assignment any way you see fit. Zentangles are new to me, as is abstract art, so this is definitely challenging to me. Most tangles I have seen are done with micro pens, or pencils, I do mine with paints and brushes. This turtle has a pin motif, with flowers and other tangles on the shell and head. The ribbon edging is adorned with some flowers. I will post my one from this week, soon. If you are interested in learning the art of Zentangle here is the Facebook group.    My painting is available in my Etsy store.

Shipping Framed Paintings New Rule

I finally shipped one of my framed pieces of art work, and it was way more expensive than I realized it would be. So, for now all my paintings will be pictured framed, but price and shipping will be decreased because I will not be shipping them framed. This will save on shipping and hassles for everyone involved. If you absolutely want it framed, you need to contact me for exact shipping fees, and times to have it shipped framed.

The above disclaimer is now posted with all my original acrylic pieces of art.  I painted a picture for my fil for Christmas, and oh my it was expensive to ship.  So, all paintings will be shipped unframed.  It is not that expensive to get one framed, and it saves so much hassle.  However, if someone really wants it shipped framed, I will do it, but exact shipping will have to be paid.  The box alone, and bubble wrap was almost 10 dollars.

Tomorrow, is the big day!  I finally get to play with my new resin supplies.  I will do some painting as well, at least that is the plan.  I have so many projects I want to do.

I Love Cows

Do you love cows? I love cute, adorable cows. These cows I painted, using acrylic paints, are absolutely adorable. Since I am still learning, always learning LOL, it is not quite perfect, but special to anyone who loves whimsical things. I hope to do some more of these in the future, but none exactly like this one. All my paintings so far, are original paintings one of a kind, with no repeats. They are not prints. They are done on acrylic painting thick paper. I do not put them on canvas on purpose, to keep the prices lower. I am in the process of framing all my paintings. This one is not yet framed, but you can certainly have it framed. If you know a farmer, or just anyone who loves animals this would be a cute and wonderful gift idea. Be sure and check out all my unique paintings, when you visit my Etsy store.

Seeing Red and A 4H Scrapbook

The kids and I began a project today, and I finished a project today. Let's start with the misfit deer painting, that I completed. oh I loved this concept of a silhouette in a color other than black. So I made a very red moon, and a yellow deer silhouette. I was so proud of it. That is until my son pointed out to me that deer antlers originate from only two spots on their head. OK so I got lost in the painting and didn't pay attention. He is a misfit deer, with an extremely large head, good thing with antlers all across it, LOL! I will list him for sale because I think he is very original, unique and I love him. I will try this one again, paying better attention to his antlers. DJ is the Historian for his 4H group. That means he is responsible for making the scrapbook for the end of the year. Well the year has ended. Even though this is not due until August, I do not believe in procrastinating. Since I am cheap, yes I said it. I had no intentions of spending a fortune on this scrapbook. Besides, I looked at tons and could not find one scrapbook that encompassed all that we covered. So, I bought card stock that DJ picked, some cute stickers that I will not share yet, and then printed off a very large clover. The kids then traced the clover onto the card stock, and cut them out. I will not share how we will put this together until we get to that step. Next I have to print the pictures, and get the rest of the supplies. This will be adorable, I hope. Oh, by the way I forgot to mention, all this is for day 12 of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge.
