Blue Star Sapphire Ring

This is one of my favorite rings ever. I am not sure if I want to sell it, or keep it. It is a blue star sapphire, of excellent quality. The star is equal, and the legs go all the way to the bottom of the cabachon. It is set in sterling silver, and is a size 6. Star Sapphires can be both natural, enhanced, or synthetic. One of the most famous synthetic star sapphire is the Lindy Star Sapphire. You can tell a Lindy Star from a fraud because it will have a L engraved into the back of the stone. This ring setting has a fancy filigree design to it. This star sapphire was sold to me as natural in color, with no treatments. It is a 7mmx5mm oval. One more way of telling if your star sapphire is synthetic or natural, is if the star stays exactly in the middle and never moves. The star should shift with movement of the gemstone.

Playing With Wire

I have been playing around with some wire techniques again. This is a large rainbow glass bead, I used craft wire to make the bail, and heart pendant design. It is simple, yet lovely, and would make a great gift idea for a younger girl. It will be available for sale in my Etsy store very soon. If you would rather purchase it through this blog, please contact me at darien04@gmail.com for info how to do that. You will get free shipping, and 5 dollars off, if you buy through this blog.

Pink Zircon and CZ Ring

Zircon is one of the oldest gemstones, known to man. It is almost always natural in color, with no enhancements. Matter of fact the CZ which is a man made gemstone, was made because of the popularity, and scarcity of natural Zircon. Zircon can be found in a variety of colors. This one was sold to me as Imperial Zircon, which I am not sure what that means, but it is a pinky peach, with a hint of orange color. It is a 6mm Trillion that I set in a stunning sterling silver, size 6, cz semi mount. It is rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing, that also means it can not be sized. This stunning ring will be available to purchase, in my missy69 Etsy store. Zircon is a very durable gemstone with a hardness of 8, on the Mohs hardness scale.

Tanzanite And Yellow Mother Of Pearl Pendant

This is another of my new semi mounts I purchased from Jewelry Television. This one is a sterling silver with inlaid enhanced Yellow Mother of Pearl, then I set a 5mm Trillion Tanzanite as the featured gemstone. It has channel set CZ's running along the side. This one is heavy silver, with rhodium plating. It is a quite lovely piece. This piece will be available in my Etsy store. It is dainty yet, bold enough to be noticed.

Bold Smoky Quartz and CZ Ring

I love this ring, definitely one of my favorites. I have had this Smoky Quartz gemstone for some time. Now it finally has a home, in this lovely sterling silver unique semi mount. It is a size 6, and the center stone is surrounded by round CZ's. Usually stones are cut in cabachon form because they not transparent, not this one. This Smoky Quartz is so clean and wonderful, you can see right through to the floor of the gallery of the ring. This ring is stunning, and will be available for sale in my Etsy store. This semi mount was purchased from Jewelry Television, from a new line of semi mounts they have available. The first one I purchased I was not pleased with. This one, and the two others I just bought, were awesome. One hint if you buy from JTV I have found their settings often do not fit the size stone they say they do. Buy the setting first, then measure, and purchase your stone.

Pink Tennessee River Shell Pendant

Tennessee River Shell, is located in rivers in Tennessee. It is said to be somewhat rare, and becoming more rare. It comes from the Nacre of mussels, that can live up to 50 years. The nacre can be pink, or purple in range of color. This pendant is Big, and Bold, not for the faint of heart. It is simply stunning. This lovely pendant can be purchased in my Etsy store. If you would like to purchase it through this blog, you will get free shipping, and 5 dollars off. I am having a sale in my Etsy shop too. Please ask questions if you need to.

Pezzottaite From The Beryl Family

This ring is a pink gemstone, it is heavily included, but a nice size of an 8mmx6mm oval. At first upon getting this loose stone, I was extremely excited because I thought a miracle had happened and I got a Bixbite. Imagine the stress on my heart. Now I am not saying it is not a Bixbite, as it looks like a lot of Bixbite stones I have seen, except not nearly as red in color. So I did some searching and I think it is actually Pezzottaite, an extremely rare form of Beryl that does resemble both Morganite, and Bixbite, but has a completely different chemical composition. It is almost always heavily included, and is usually cut in cabachon cats eye form. It has a 7.5 hardness on the Moh's hardness scale, and is kind of greasy in luster. Now this could be an included Pink Sapphire, or any other pink gemstone. Whatever it is it has nice color, and size. I am willing to sell this one, and the price is negotiable. If you are interested in this unique, and lovely ring contact me for discussion of price.

Pretty In Pink

There are so many pink varieties of gemstones. Pink is one of my favorite colors, for gemstones. You can get light pink, all the way to shocking pink. Some varieties of Pink gemstones are pink sapphire, morganite, kunzite, pearls, mother of pearl, tennessee river shell, pink topaz, pink tourmaline, pezzotoite, rhodochrosite, and rhodolite garnet. Kunzite is a pinkish lilac color depending on lighting. Patroke Kunzite is a shocking pink variety of Kunzite, from Pakistan, and extremely expensive. Morganite, which is usually a very soft pink color, also comes in a variety where it has lovely peach undertones to it. I have one Morganite gemstone, that I have not set yet. I used to have a small pear shape, with the peach undertones, but I sold it. Morganite is very difficult to get, in good quality. Of course Pink Sapphire, and Pink Tourmaline are also very expensive, and difficult to obtain in good quality. Pink Topaz is a treated gemstone, that is probably the most affordable, and obtainable. There is natural color Pink Topaz but it is extremely rare, rarely sold to the general public, and extremely expensive. All these pieces pictured are available for sale. Some are in my Etsy store, some are not. If you would like info, and pricing please feel free to contact me.

Red and Gold The Colors Of Fall

I know it is winter, but the colors of this new ring remind me of Fall. I purchased the semi mount from one of my favorite sellers on Ebay, then set the pear shaped red gemstone in the semi mount. It is a size 7, sterling silver ring. The accent stones are orange sapphires, and the center stone is either a Red Garnet, or could be Red Labradorite. Since it came in a parcel, I can not say for sure. It is a genuine gemstone, and as you can see a lovely piece. This ring will be available for sale in my Etsy store The price will be 39.99 If you buy through this blog, you will get 5 dollars off, and free shipping. Contact me for more info. I had three more sales in my Etsy store yesterday. I am so happy about that. My gemstone ornaments, and Iolite ring all sold.
