Fun Friday Grandma Lindas House Etsy Shop

This week for Fun Friday, I get to feel like a kid again. Today I am featuring the Etsy shop Grandma Lindas House. She has the cutest, Barbie doll outfits ever. I loved Barbie when I was a little girl. I am aging myself, but I had the first jointed Barbie that they made. I loved her so much I cut her hair LOL. My mother was not happy. Between my sisters, and I we must have had every Barbie, and accessory ever made, up until like 1985, when my youngest sister outgrew them. I absolutely love this Barbie outfit pictured. Is it not cool? She looks so glamorous. I have a five year old daughter who is just getting into Barbie now. I hope she will love her as much as I did.

Grandma Lindas House, also offers hats, mittens, scarves, baby outfits, and so much more. Be sure to check out her shop. Winter, and Christmas are both coming, and she has items that would make great gifts.

If you would like your Etsy shop, or craft blog featured on Fun Friday, just leave me a comment, and be sure to leave your store, or blog address.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Pink Zircon and Ruby Ring

This ring was originally purchased from my Etsy store, but the buyer did not pay, so it has been relisted. This lovely ring is a sterling silver ring with a 6.5 mm round Pink Zircon gemstone. I believe it to be pink Zircon, but it could be any other number of pink gemstones. What I do know is that it is a real gemstone, not a simulant, or faux. It has rubies embedded into the sides, as shown in the pictures. It is a size 6, and is available for purchase in my Etsy store. I offer a free layaway plan, and combined shipping, so be sure to check out all my items.

More Pink Jewelry Rhodolite Garnet Ring

Did you know Garnet comes in every single variation of color except blue? How cool, and versatile of a gemstone is that? One of my favorites is Rhodolite garnet, with the more pinkish hue to it. Fine quality Rhodolite garnet, in larger sizes, can demand extremely high prices. All garnets are natural in color, with no enhancements, making it a collectors dream. This lovely ring, is a sterling silver 6mmx4mm oval Rhodolite garnet gemstone, surrounded by cz's in a cocktail style ring. This ring is petite enough for every day wear, yet big enough to get noticed. It is a size 6, and available for purchase in my Etsy store. Be sure to check out all my great items, and layaway for Christmas. Garnet is a durable gemstone, with a 7-8 on the Moh's hardness scale.

Pink Morganite Ring

Morganite, the lovely pink variety of beryl. Other members of the beryl family are emeralds, and aquamarine. Morganite can also be found, in a yellow, or orange color, though the pink is by far the most popular variety. This ring is a size 6, featuring a 9mmx7mm baby pink oval morganite gemstone. This one is natural in color, though some are irradiated to intensify the pink color. It has CZ's on either side. This lovely ring is available for purchase in my Etsy store.

Pink Diamonds A Gemstone Collectors Dream

All this week, I will be featuring pink gemstones, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. If you would like a chance to win the lovely Pink Zircon ring, pictured at the top of my blog, go to http://www.melissashomeschool.blogspot.com to see the rules, and deadline. It ends on November 1st.

Pink Diamonds are a gemstone lovers dream. While most pink diamonds get their color from a treatment called bulk diffusion, there are some that are completely natural in their color. They come from the Argyle mines, in Australia, where the most exquisite champagne diamonds are also found. These diamonds are so rare, and so expensive, I will probably never personally own one. If you are a true diamond lover, you must add a pink diamond to your collection. The three short videos below, give some great info on pink diamonds. Enjoy, and Happy Sunday.

Fun Friday Hemlock Hollow Creations Etsy Store

Yay it is Fun Friday yet again, and you know what that means? I get to feature a craft blogger, or fellow Etsy store. This week is Hemlock Hollow Creations, and this lovely necklace. I am not very good at beading, though it is not from not trying, I just can't get the hang of it. So I am always checking out other beading items, to see all their cool designs. This is a unakite, and Chinese orange serpentine carved focal bead necklace. This is a very unique piece, and just the loveliest colors for fall. Serpentine, and Unakite are both natural gemstones, and are not man made. If you would like more info on this piece, and to see all her other lovely pieces, please visit Hemlock Hollow Creations, today.

If you would like your blog, or Etsy store featured, on a Fun Friday, then leave a comment, and the address to your site. They are first come first, serve, in the order they come in. I promise I will get to them all, and you will be notified when you are featured.

Hot Pink Tourmaline Ring Alternate October Birthstone

For those of you born in the month of October, but do not care for opals, you are lucky because pink tourmaline is the alternate gemstone for the month of October. This lovely sterling silver, size 6 ring, features a 3mm round hot pink tourmaline gemstone, with two 3 mm round white topaz on either side. This is a petite ring, for a petite hand. It would look awesome as a pinky ring, or even a wedding band. A sweet 16 birthday, or young girls first gemstone ring. It is available to buy in my Etsy store. I offer a free layaway plan, so be sure to ask about that. I recently had to cancel a layaway sale for non payment, so those great items will be back in my store, for others to purchase.

Simple Saturday A Boy And His Dog

I know this has nothing to do with jewelry, but I just could not help sharing it. Yesterday morning when I got up, and peaked on the kids, this is how my son, and his two year old Lab mix Krypto were sleeping. Back to back, and head to head. I love it!

Fun Friday Vintage Legacy Studio Etsy Shop

Well it is Fun Friday again. Are you having fun? Well you will after you see the very cool shop I am featuring this week. Vintage Legacy Studio, is an Etsy shop, with some very cool vintage items. I love vintage items, they are so historical. I had to pick two items from her shop, because I love them both.

First check out that cool vintage dress with fan, gloves, beaded bag, and fascinator. How cool would you look going to your Halloween party in this? It is awesome, I love it!

Second is this very cool vintage, porcelain, ladies hair receiver. Never heard of a hair receiver? Me neither LOL. It was something ladies in the Edwardian Era, kept on their vanity. As they brushed their very long hair every night, they would put whatever pieces of hair that ended up in the brush into the hole of this receiver. Then when it was full they would use the hair to make pin cushions. Kind of gross, right, well not really since the oils stored in the hair, kept the needles from rusting. Pretty cool, if you ask me. I love vintage dishes, and such probably the best. This piece is lovely, and appears to be in excellent condition. Be sure to check out all her other great items at Vintage Legacy Studio.

If you have an Etsy shop, or crafting blog, leave me a comment, with the address, and when your turn comes up I will feature your shop or blog.

Have a great Fun Friday, everyone.

Mexican Fire Opal

Mexican Fire Opal, yet another form of opal for all you October babies. Fire Opal is the national gemstone for Mexico. Do you know what it is for the US? It is Tourmaline, one of my favorite gemstones. Fire Opal is the orange variety of Opal, and is quite rare, and expensive. Its main sources are Mexico, and Brazil, though I did see some recently from Ethiopia. You can usually tell the difference between Mexican and Brazilian because the Brazilian has a more yellow, and milky hue to it, where the Mexican is more crystalline. It is a rather soft gemstone, so care must be take when cleaning, and wearing it. If you love the color orange, then this is the gemstone for you. I do not personally own any, at least not that I know of. I have two small orange stones, but I believe them to Mandarin Garnet, not Fire Opal.

Do You Love Champagne Diamonds?

I bought this ring with the intention of removing the center stone, and putting another in there. After I got it, however, I loved it and decided to leave it alone. It is a thick, sterling silver ring, with a large champagne colored cz as the center stone. It has accent stones all over the place. This is a bold ring, and the pear shape CZ is 8mmx6mm which would literally cost thousands, in this color, and quality, for a real diamond. I love natural gemstones, but sometimes a synthetic or CZ is a lovely substitute. Especially for the pricier gemstones such as diamonds, or even sapphires.

I hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday.

Fun Friday Evies Tool Emporium Etsy Shop

Well it is Friday again, and that means Fun Friday. This is my third Fun Friday post, and this week is Evies Tool Emporium. Evie's Etsy store features, all kinds of tools needed for making jewelry, and crafting in general. Her prices are fair, and she has a good selection. Of all her things, the one thing I do not have is a caliper, and hers is electronic too, even better. I currently measure my stones, using a standard mm ruler. It is accurate, but not always easy to see, with my old lady eyes. So, if my husband reads this, I could use this for Christmas. She has pliers, hammers, a vice, soldering tools, magnifiers, loupes, and tons of other great items. So be sure to stop by Evies Tool Emporium, and take a look around. It doesn't hurt to add her shop to your favorites either.

If you would like to be featured on Fun Friday, leave a comment with your Etsy store name, or your craft blog. Either will be accepted. I do have a waiting list, and they go in the order I got them, but they will all be gotten to. Have a great weekend, everyone.

How To Wire Wrap A Bail For A Gemstone Pendant

I love this lady. I have used several of her tutorials to learn various techniques. Like all new things, it does take some practice to get it down. Have fun, this one isn't too hard.

Lost Pictures, Mining For Opals

My computer had a nasty virus, that my service provider is really to blame for. At any rate that is besides the point. I lost all my pictures, so for now, until I can get more taken, you are stuck watching any cool videos I can find. This one is mining for Opals in Australia. It always amazes me what the miners go through to get some gemstone rough, pretty fascinating. The finest opals in the world come from Australia.

Fun Friday Jills Treasure Chest Etsy Store

Welcome to Fun Friday. Each Friday I will be featuring a craft blog, or Etsy store. I have several in line now, but if you would like to get in line, be sure to leave me a comment, and the address of your store, or craft blog.

This week I am featuring a wonderful Etsy store, called Jills Treasure Chest. She makes ceramics, and jewelry. I must say as a fellow jewelry maker, her pieces are lovely, and I have no idea how to do ceramics, so of course I am jealous. She makes the cutest Angels. If you collect angels, be sure to check out Abigail, and Anabella, and they are kitties too.

If I had to pick one item I would love to own, it would have to be one of her handmade ceramic Santas. I love Christmas, and all the symbols that go along with it. Look at the picture, it is the cutest farmer Santa. She has several choices in her Etsy shop. If I get a few extra bucks, I might just have to make this Santa mine. Be sure to stop by, and check out her shop, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for stopping by, for another Fun Friday, have a great weekend.
