It is already the end of March, and I have not posted a thing about Aquamarine. Aquamarine is the traditional birthstone for March babies. This ring is listed as a Blue Topaz, because I am unsure if it is Aqua or blue topaz, so I go with the more obvious. I say that because an Aqua of this size would be very pricey, and it came in a parcel, so while it could be an Aqua, the chances are slim. If you can not afford an Aquamarine of this size, then blue topaz could be an alternate for you. It could also be a blue zircon, again not sure. Fun Friday The Letter V: Vesuvianite

It is Fun Friday again, at my Blogging For Fun group. We are working on an A-Z meme, and we are up to the letter V. V is for Vesuvianite. I do not own this particular rare gemstone. It is also called Idocrase. Vesuvianite is a brown, green, or blue silicate gemstone. The most sought after color is the lovely green color, as shown in the video. It got its name from the origin it was originally found, which is Mt Vesuvias. There is a blue variety called Cyprine, which was found in Franklin, NJ, and Norway. It is said to be a sky blue color. I have not actually seen this variety, but I would love to. Californite is the name given to jade like Vesuvianite found in California. It has a hardness of 6.5 on the Moh's hardness scale. So it is a gemstone that can be faceted, and worn in jewelry. Gem quality Vesuvianite is very rare, and difficult to find. You may find it in cabochon, or in carvings. Happy gemstone hunting!

Rhodochrosite and Neon Blue Apatite Necklace

This is by far my favorite piece, since I started the beading. I normally don't bead, but I decided to learn since there were so many unique, and special beads available. I have had the Rhodochrosite, focal bead since Christmas but just couldn't find what I really liked it with. Then I found these neon blue Apatite beads, and I fell in love. Rhodochrosite is from Argentina, at least this one is. It is large, and in charge, and pear shaped. The necklace measures 18 inches in length without the focal bead, and has a magnetic clasp for easy getting on, and off. This piece is now available in my Etsy store. I do offer a free layaway service, should anyone want to use it.

I just bought the coolest thing from Fire Mountain Gems, and I thought I would share it with all you jewelry enthusiasts. One of my favorite things to wear are bracelets. Bracelets however can be very expensive to make, and your price point for selling them has to be much higher. Last week I got a new catalog from Fire Mountain Gems, and I noticed these bezel gemstone links. They are easy to use, and are available in sterling silver. You can make an easy, affordable, gemstone bracelet. Of course you need to buy all the other parts, such as jump rings, and the clasp, but even that will not make them too expensive, and of course you have to have the gemstones. I am excited to make one of these, and then share it with all of you. Now I just need the time to do it LOL. Don't forget tomorrow is the last day of my 17 dollar jewelry sale in my Etsy store.
