Lighthouse Cross Stitch Bag

This bag is all completely handmade. I made the lighthouse counted cross stitch picture. Then my mom sewed the bag for me. I have shared a Thomas Kinkade one she made, in an older post. This one I am keeping, but if anyone wants one, I still have the pattern. Of course it will take me a while to make the picture. Let me know if you are interested. I will be listing it in Etsy as a pre-order item. The inside is shown below. I love it.

Painting, Painting, and more Painting

Caitlin and I have been busy as beavers painting. I learned a new way to make a hydrangea that I really like, once I get the hang of it that is. I also love the moon and the wolf, that I did just last night. I mean really love it. I might even do more in other colors, and try a smaller version to put on various items. That is how much I like it. That was my first try at a wolf, not bad if you ask me. The tree paintings, Caitlin and I did Wednesday night. Not what I intended mine to look like, but it is still OK. Caitlin's pink poodle, or was supposed to be a poodle, lol is awesome. She is only 7 after all. I practiced color combos and strokes with the various roses and butterflies shown. I very much like my butterfly better than the Donna Dewberry one I have been learning. What do you think?

How To Paint the Sky With Acrylics

I have figured out how to seal my glass painted objects, so I can list them for sale. Since they are my first projects they will be very affordable.  The first sealer, which I put on three coats, has actually worked fine.  The garden bottles I made, and sealed, using that sealer have been out in the pouring rain for two days.  Not one speck of the paint has come off at all.  The colors are just as crisp as they were when I put them out there two weeks ago.  I did buy another sealer, I used one coating, then submerged the items into water and let them sit for a while.  The paint did not come off.  Wednesday is my next painting class.  Since I am not sure what we are doing, I will study the videos below in hopes to do some sky work.  I love scenic pictures and this would be my ultimate painting goal, along with painting on jewelry of course.  Have an awesome Monday, everyone.

Time For Some Linky Love!

Each Thursday I do a Linky Love post, featuring members of the Facebook group Easyshop360. These are the members who participated today. Each member should share this article on either their own blog, or FB fan pages. They can share other places as well, if they choose to. If you would like to participate, look up Easyshop360 on Facebook, and join in the fun. Be sure to check out all these awesome items. Not all are Etsy, and some are not necessarily handmade, but women in small business. Show some love!

Wire Cuff Bracelet Watch

Those of you who read and follow this blog, know a couple of weeks ago I took a cuff bracelet and made it into a watch using craft wire. I have been wearing that watch ever since, and I love the comfort, feel and style of it. I looked at buying more cuff bracelets, unfortunately the price would make the finished watch too expensive. So, I decided to find a way to make a cuff bracelet in a easy affordable kind of way. I love craft wire. It comes in a huge variety of colors, and is very pliable and easy to use. I also find it durable, and also comes in different gauges to fit different projects. I try to do a project each Wednesday, since I am learning to paint, that has overshadowed jewelry making. But I just had to try the cuff idea. So I used black and mauve craft wire to make the cuff bracelet. Then the mauve craft wire to attach the watch face. You can see the results. I love this, but do not care for the end of the cuff on one side. I need to figure out how to do that better. Since this is my first attempt, I am very pleased. This will be for sale in my Etsy store in the near future, at a very affordable price. I have 7 more watch faces to experiment with. What do you think of this style?
