I have been working feverishly to get some items finished for Valentine's Day, or could be for weddings or anniversaries as well. Below is a wooden block style multi picture frame. It holds four pictures, and I wood burned the top and each side. The top is Calla Lilies. Each side has a different word, and flowers, along with hearts. All hand drawn, then wood burned. This can be dated and personalized. Visit my Etsy store, to see all the other pictures, and possibly to purchase.
Change is good! I have reopened a new Etsy Pattern store, called the Pink Flamingo. I have a ton of inventory to list, and could take a while. I am looking at some other new creative endeavors that have more to do with teaching. My kids are growing up, and it is time to expand my wings. Join me in this new creative adventure!

Nothing Says Christmas in July Like Flip Flops!
All of the flip flops shown below are available in my Etsy shop. What a unique gift for the flip flop lover in your life. They are all hand drawn and hand painted by me. I am always adding new ones, and I take custom orders. I am already thinking of Halloween and Football season. I won't do team logos, but I could do team colors. Check back often, or ask me if I can make you a pair. Only today, and tomorrow, are left to use my coupon code, christmasinjuly, to get 10% off. Click here, to visit my Etsy shop.

Day 5: Theme Mandolins #30DOC
I painted bright and early this morning, before anyone else was even up. How refreshing. This is my day 5 entry for 30 Days of Creativity challenge. I actually started this painting two weeks ago. Normally I only paint on Monday. But, since we are done homeschooling, basically, for the year I have lots more time to paint. This was intended to be just vines and roses, but when I saw the theme for today was mandolin, I decided to paint in a Mandolin. I like it. The colors all blend very nice, though I wish I had added a soft blue as an over all background color, but I will have to remember that next time. I am always learning each time I create a painting. This is the only thing I got to do today, but I do have to say the pineapple salsa I made for the theme yesterday was delicious with our dinner chicken tonight. What did you create today? Tomorrow is sticks and I think I will be able to stick to it, because my other plans are probably going to be washed out by rain.

Painting a Tin Pail
On Monday, Caitlin and I usually sit down to paint. My husband has a firehouse meeting every Monday, and it is a perfect time to paint. Since the last two weeks have been so crazy with 4H and homeschool evals, I have not had a lot of spare time. Today, was my first attempt at painting on tin. I saw this red tin pail at the Dollar General, and finally bought one. Now it does already have a pattern on it, so it is not smooth. This did make it somewhat difficult to navigate my paint brush. I am still quite happy with the results. Of course the first shot is sunflowers, but I don't use traditional colors when I paint any of my flowers. You can see the results. On the other side is roses, and daisies. Roses are a no no without a smooth surface, ugh they just don't come out well. Daisies I tried a different brush and I just didn't like it. It is acceptable, but not how I will paint daisies again. Still working on vines and stems. Caitlin painted one of her favorite movie characters, Bolt. I am always amazed at her talent. Then I bought a pair of pink flip flops for a buck, and painted my favorite football team's logo on them, the Buffalo Bills. The first one I did was rough, had a better hang of it by the second one. Better yet, I have a new pair of cool shoes. The last paper is just practice flowers and swirlies. I love painting, and I hope to continue to grow and learn.

Painting, Painting, and more Painting
Caitlin and I have been busy as beavers painting. I learned a new way to make a hydrangea that I really like, once I get the hang of it that is. I also love the moon and the wolf, that I did just last night. I mean really love it. I might even do more in other colors, and try a smaller version to put on various items. That is how much I like it. That was my first try at a wolf, not bad if you ask me. The tree paintings, Caitlin and I did Wednesday night. Not what I intended mine to look like, but it is still OK. Caitlin's pink poodle, or was supposed to be a poodle, lol is awesome. She is only 7 after all. I practiced color combos and strokes with the various roses and butterflies shown. I very much like my butterfly better than the Donna Dewberry one I have been learning. What do you think?
