Christmas In July Missy69 Etsy, Item 1: Soft Variegated Baby Boy Crochet Blanket

So, if you were following along, I didn't do so great blogging in June. My life has been crazy since April, and I sure am hoping by the end of July it will slow down a little, and be more normal. For the month of July, I am running a Christmas in July sale. There are 14 items marked down, and they center around Christmas, or cold weather. For example, this lovely baby blanket, handmade crochet with baby soft yarn in variegated blues and greens. A lot of time goes into a crochet project, and often people don't realize how much love is put into a crocheted item. Crocheted items last for years, are super warm, even the lighter yarns, and can be handed down from generation to generation. Visit my Etsy store to see this beautiful baby blanket, and maybe purchase too.  I can't make the link thing work on my Nextbook, so go to Etsy and search Missy69, and  you will find my shop.  I will fix the link asap.

New for Valentine's Day Wood Burned Square Block Multi Picture Frame

I have been working feverishly to get some items finished for Valentine's Day, or could be for weddings or anniversaries as well. Below is a wooden block style multi picture frame. It holds four pictures, and I wood burned the top and each side. The top is Calla Lilies. Each side has a different word, and flowers, along with hearts. All hand drawn, then wood burned. This can be dated and personalized. Visit my Etsy store, to see all the other pictures, and possibly to purchase.

New Bracelet Silver Tone Swirl Beads with Multi Colored Faux Pearls

Before I get to the bracelet, an update on the turtle flip flops. They are holding up awesome, and the sealer is working great! So, I will hopefully be listing them soon, with custom requests.

I finally got to sit down and play around with some jewelry. Bracelets are by far my most favorite type of jewelry to wear. The one shown is made with silver tone swirl beads, that are big and bold, but not heavy. I used multi colored faux pearls to finish the piece, and a lobster claw clasp. It will fit a 8 1/2 inch wrist, or smaller.   It is available to purchase in my Etsy store. Don't forget I offer free shipping, and a free layaway service.

Crochet Toilet Cover

I finished the crochet toilet seat cover. I only had to pull it out once, lol. I did not like how the shower curtain was coming at all, so that will be restarted as well. I will do a shower curtain, and toilet floor rug, and maybe window valance. Then I will decide if I want to list them as made to order items in my Etsy store. I am not sure I will ever get the money out of the amount of time I put into these. So, probably not.

Make Upcycled Wind Chimes with Soda Cans

Today, I took one of my heart shaped resin hearts, and made a wind chime. First, I had to drill six holes into the Monarch Resin Heart. I created this piece last year, but since no one had purchased it, I decided to use it for wind chimes. Then I had to cut two soda cans, draw the butterflies onto the can, and cut them out. Then using beading wire, I created the rest of the wind chime. They make a light tingling noise. It was the perfect day to test them, a nice breezy day. You can see how beautiful these came out. I am hoping to get time to do more of these.

Upcycled Wine Bottle Into Solar Garden Light Red White and Blue with Eagle Abstract Art

Yesterday, was Memorial Day, here in the USA. A day to thank, reflect, and remember those who died serving their country. In honor of Memorial Day, two of my wine bottles were painted in a patriotic theme. This is only one bottle, two different lighting camera options.

This one was done in red, white and blue, with an Eagle painted on the flag colors. The Eagle even has a red, white and blue eye. This was not exactly how I envisioned it, but I am really pleased with how it came out. After two layers of sealant, it looks amazing out in the front garden.

I have finished three other bottles as well, but I will share them one by one in the next few days. I also painted on a Magnolia leaf today. That was awesome, and I can not wait to share it. I am still working on the baby boy crochet cocoon, and some jewelry pieces.

Patriotic Red White and Blue Eagle Hologram Christmas Ornament

For the last little bit of resin I had left, I decided to try some of my new hologram stickers in the resin. Now, it does not work exactly like a hologram should. Both images show up inside the resin. So, you get to see both images of this beautiful Bald Eagle. I used red, white and blue beads as border colors, and then drilled the hole and use hot pink wire to make the bail to hang it with. This would make a beautiful Christmas tree ornament for anyone who loves the USA, has served their country, or was even born on one of the patriotic holidays such as 4th of July. It was glazed with a glaze to make it shiny and to protect it, but it doesn't look real awesome in the images. I actually prefer the resin pieces unglazed. The other pieces that came in this last pour will be shared as soon as I decide what to do with them, but they are beautiful butterfly pieces. You can purchase this ornament, and check out all the others, by visiting my Etsy store.

Resin Bangle Bracelets?

I have been dying to get bangle molds, for resin. Well, I finally got two and could not wait to pour the resin. Let me tell you something, one they use a ton of resin. You would have to charge a small fortune to make these. Two, they are almost impossible to get out of the molds. I have had no issues, up until these. It took me, my son, and a nail file to finally get them out of the mold. I am not sure I will be using these again, at least not the thicker one. The other thing is the thinner bangle, is very small. I have a six inch wrist, and it would not even fit me. That means it would be for a child at best. I was so disappointed I wanted to cry. Then, I realized I put the embeds in wrong on the smaller bangle. So, I sealed it, placed a jar top on it to hold a candle, and voila a beautiful candle holder. Now, I would recommend that instead of putting the candle right in the top like I did, that you actually use a candle that is already in something to catch the wax. Otherwise the lid fills up after a couple of hours with wax, and can leak down the sides. The second, now candle holder, is much thicker, and has elephant beads embedded in it. The smaller one has lady cameos, and coral roses. I only have a very tiny bit of resin left, to make a couple of small pieces. So, I will be waiting to be sure what I want to make. In the meantime I have started a new baby cocoon, and continue to use the resin pieces I have already made to make them into various projects. I have several headbands done, and jewelry pieces too. I think I am going to list these two not bangles in my Etsy store, and see what kind of response I get.

All About Blogspot Monthly Blogger Challenge: Spring

This is the very first team challenge for the Etsy team, All About Blogspot. I am not sure how many will join in this first time, but hopefully a few will. I made the theme Spring for obvious reasons. Since I am constantly creating new things, at least every few days I hope, I wasn't sure which pieces I would share for the challenge. I decided to go with my newest creations, little girl headbands. Back in January I started to make resin pieces. My very first pour was a whole bunch of cute pieces. But, after I made them I was not sure what I would do with them. So, I listed them in my Etsy store, as cabochons for jewelry making. As they got close to expiring, I got a clever idea. I decided to make headbands with a flower, and the center of the flower would be one of these cute resin pieces. So far, I have four done, and will hopefully get one done today, before I head out the door for a homeschool play date. The two shown are a cute irridescent baby tiger cub, and an adorable puppy in a peppermint cupcake. I have tons of cute stickers, and can take custom orders for just about anything you might want. If you want to talk about a custom order headband, please contact me through my Etsy store. If you have a blogger blog, and an Etsy account, why not head over to All About Blogspot, and join in the blogging fun.

Here are the other members who participated.  I will add them as they share their posts.  Please visit and support each member.  Thank you!.

Do You Need A Good Arm Workout? Hope Resin Keychain With Pink Beads

Do you need a good arm workout, for a really good price? Then you need to be drilling your resin manually, using a bead reamer. The other day, I drilled some more pieces and let me tell you my arms got a work out. It is hard work doing it this way. Most people use a dremmel, I like the old fashioned way, lol. Or just like torture. I have been being creative with my resin again. I had this charm, from another project, so I decided to place it in resin. Rather than using glitter, I used pink beads to add the pink color to the piece, and one stray blue bead got in there too. Then I drilled the hole, with my bead reamer, and added the wire wrap bail and the keychain component. This is a reversible keychain, because the other side of the charm has a dove on it. This is available in my Etsy store, which you can access by clicking on my Etsy store banner on this blog. This would make a great gift for any woman who needs a little extra love and hope to carry around with them.

Night Owl in Tree Painted Resin Heart

I was so excited today to give painting on the resin another try. I will tell you how I came up with this almost finished piece. First I mixed the resin, and added a tiny bit of black acrylic paint to the resin. I used a toothpick this time rather than squeezing a drop in. Even a drop was too much and it changed the property of the resin. After mixing it, it was this awesome smoky color, like when it just starts to get dark. Then I added the owl sticker to the resin, and let it cure 12 hours. If you use silicone molds the resin cures much faster. This was a silicone mold, my others take a full day. Then I popped out the cured piece, that is the very first picture.  Then I painted on the tree trunk, branches, leaves and moon.  I tried brown paint, but that did not show up well enough, so I ended up using black paint.  You can see the results in the bottom two images.  After I let it set a few days, I will seal it with a spray sealer, and then add a glaze over it.  Last but not least I will drill a hole and it will become my newest Christmas ornament.  It will be available in my Etsy store, with all my other cool resin pieces.  I made some more resin with gemstones too, but have not shared those yet.  So, watch for them soon.

Auctions are Coming to This Blog!

So, I have been thinking of ways to increase my traffic, and sales, and I am going to be starting some auctions on this blog.  I will advertise the auction on other sites, but the actual bidding will take place here. Here is how it will work:

Every other Friday, I will share an item, from my Etsy store that will be auctioned off.  All bids will be low, with one dollar increasing increments.  Shipping and handling and all info will be listed.  If you are the winner a Paypal invoice will be sent to you from me.  When you bid, you must leave a legitimate Paypal account email address.  If you bid and do not pay for the item, I will block you from all future auctions.  Bids are to be made in the comments, and the auctions will run until Sunday night at 9PM Eastern time, at which time I will close the auction to bidding and contact the winner.  The winner will have three days to respond to me with payment, or to arrange payment.  I will ship to USA, Great Britain, and Canada.  Canada and Great Britain bidders need to have a verified Paypal account.  If you have any questions please ask them in the comments, before you bid.

I hope this will be fun and a great way to get exposure to my Etsy store, and this blog.  First auction starts this Friday, March 7th, 2014 at 9 AM.  All times are Eastern time and the clocks do spring ahead that weekend, so keep that in mind.

Lilac Amethyst and A New Venture

I am considering a new venture that has to do with sales, and jewelry, but not jewelry that I make. I have not decided for sure yet, but it is looking promising. I will of course continue to make my own, as well. Also, every time I share something on this blog, I will offer advertising space. I will be working on my blogs, and all free ads that did not reciprocate the agreement to share my blog will be removed. I will be doing no more free ads. I will do guest posts, if you have something to offer that is on topic with this blog, paid banners, and paid text ads. If you are interested in any of those things, contact me in the comments with your contact info and I will get back to you. Please do not spam this blog, or my email address, because I will ignore you and spam comments will be removed. Everyone knows what spam is. Were you born in February? Then your birthstone is the lovely purple Amethyst. The ring shown below, can be purchased in my Etsy store, and is a lovely Lilac Amethyst with red rubies along the shoulders.

Handmade Resin Keychains Butterflies and Flowers

Here are three finished resin pieces, from my very first set, that I made into keychains. I have completed a second pour and tomorrow will be my third. So, I have tons of new things to share, lol. Plus I continue to paint and crochet. These are all made with clear resin. The first two are butterflies, one dark pink, and one soft pink. The third one is a blue flower with a coral rose bead in the center. These make awesome gifts for friends, and family, and are very affordable, and durable. Check out my Etsy store to see all my new resin pieces, and bookmark it, so you don't miss any of my new creations. I will be slowly adding all my pieces to my Ecrater store as well.

Making Resin Jewelry!

I was so excited to get my resin and one mold for Christmas. I have ordered a larger heart and some smaller heart molds. My first set of items, one mold with many openings makes a lot of pieces and shapes, came out really pretty good. This resin is awesome. It is clear and looks like glass. These are the only things listed in my Etsy store so far, and still need to go in Ecrater store. The butterfly keychain is my favorite. Then there are two heart cabochons. One has a pink flower embedded in it, the other has flat back pearls, pink on the outside and one blue one in the center. These are for wire wrapping or using them as the buyer would like to use them. Last is a Three Dancing Ladies cameo pendant. The cameo is black with white accents, and was embedded into the resin with a very tiny amount of glitter. I am not thrilled with the glitter, but maybe if I use it on the second layer, rather than the first, I will like it more. Also, some of these are quite thick and for jewelry I think thinner might be better. I will have to decide ahead of time what I will do with them so I know if I should make chunky or thin. I have many more pieces to share, once I have pictures and they are listed. I really enjoyed making the resin pieces. It is a several day process, and while this first set is affordable, I could see where they could get expensive depending on the time you put into it, and what you embed in them. I want a bangle mold, and a ring mold, but they can wait until I have a little bit more experience under my belt. I had my first sale of the new year, and it was an awesome sale. I don't share the sale item, until I know the buyer is happy and the sale is complete. Happy New Year! Happy crafting and jewelry making.

18 Inch Doll Caitlin's Party Dress with Shoes and Christmas With Mother Nature

I finished my first doll dress, and shoes, today. This is Caitlin's party dress. All my crochet doll clothes will have her name, as I make them for her doll, then offer them as made to order in my Etsy store. I am pattern stupid, so I have to make my own.  Made to order items will only be available from now on, in my Etsy store, not Ecrater store. This one is done in pink and white, with matching shoes. I can do this style in any color combo you would like. The second picture is my fourth painted gift bag, for Christmas. After Christmas I will be starting other holidays, weddings and birthdays, so be sure to watch for that. This one is titled Christmas with Mother Nature and is my favorite so far. I love it. To purchase any of my items, either click my Etsy banner at the top, or one of my Ecrater store widgets. Prices are the same, it just depends on where you prefer to buy. Ask me any questions if you need to.
