Pink Solitaire Gemstone Engagement Ring

This lovely ring is new and available in my Etsy shop.  Perfect for Valentine's Day.  It is a natural pink gemstone set in a lovely thick sterling silver cathedral setting.

I have not had time to do any new bird items.  I am currently working on some rainbow penguins.  Hopefully that will be done soon. February should be much quieter around here, and hopefully I can get some good crafting done.   I am also finishing up a crochet blanket, that I love.  It will be hard to let that one go.

This week I am featuring handmade items that have red, yellow, orange, or any combo of those colors. This is a weekly post, but I am a day late because I have family visiting and did not get to it yesterday. To visit each Etsy shop, click the highlighted link below each image.

First from Sticksnstonesgifts, is this adorable baby boy quilted blanket.  So cute!
Next MsPdesignsusa, is this leaves pdf quilted table runner pattern set.  Nice for the Fall holidays.
Alfadesigns, created this beautiful bead strand necklace.  What a lovely gift idea.
OK, this is the cutest crochet baby hat ever, from Shelleyscrochetole.  Get it for Halloween or baby's first Thanksgiving photos.
Last from Missy69, is this abstract acrylic horse painting.  Decorate your home for the season with this beautiful art work.

Apatite the Gemstone That Looks Like the Ocean

It has always been said that Aquamarine was the gemstone that looks like the ocean. I have to disagree. I think neon blue Apatite, is more akin to the blue you see at the ocean. Apatite comes in a variety of colors, but the most popular is the popsicle blue Apatite. Apatite is fairly rare, and can be very expensive. It only has a hardness of 5, so you must be careful when wearing it. If you invest in a large, expensive Apatite, I would recommend earrings or a necklace, as opposed to a ring or bracelet. I have one Apatite wire wrapped ring in my Etsy store, and you can see it by clicking this link. Very affordable! Wear the ocean on your finger. Watch the video below to learn even more about this amazing gemstone.

Clearance Sale in My Etsy Shop Missy69

I have placed four beautiful resin pendant/necklace sets on clearance. Just in time for Mother's Day. Don't forget that my shop accepts Etsy gift cards, so you could always let Mom pick her own gift with that option. The piece shown below has a real blue topaz in it, and is white resin with a touch of glitter, for glitz. The chain comes with it. There are three others, with flowers, purple glitter, and earrings. All are priced to sell, and only one of each kind. I truly make one of a kind jewelry, lol. Head on over to my Etsy shop, now, and save your favorites, or purchase a gift card for Mom.

What I Have Learned About Resin So Far, and Cute Tiger Cub Peace Sign Pendant

I did my fourth pour of resin, this week. What have I learned so far? One, I really like the creativity afforded to me with the resin. Two, the silicone molds are much easier to use than the plastic molds. Three, do not let the water boil, before you put the bottle of resins in to warm it. This causes the resin to become too hot and immediately begin to set. I had to waste some resin, and I don't like to waste anything. I made a couple of ponytail holders, and some pendants this week. Some, I have listed as just cabochons for jewelry making. If after one cycle they don't sell, on Etsy, I will make them into jewelry pieces. After that cycle they will go in my Ecrater store, and not Etsy. Why? Because, Ecrater has no fees, and why should I continue to pay fees if I don't have to, right? Anyway this piece is just so adorable. It is a tiger cub holding a peace sign embedded into clear resin and then a pendant bail added. I made this bail using a silver headpin. It is available to purchase in my Etsy store. All of my Etsy pieces will eventually be in my Ecrater store. My older jewelry pieces, and my moms beaded cell phone cases can be found in my Ecrater store only.

A Different Way To Sell My Handmade Items

I have been selling jewelry that I make, for well over ten years.  I have used Ebay, and most recently Etsy for the past five years or so.  While I have nothing against Etsy, I think it is time for a change.  With a market full of only sellers, and not many buyers, you can see why most sellers on Etsy are not successful.. Though I feel successful in the sales I made, one sale a month really is not what I was hoping for, and sometimes I go three to four months without a sale.  So, I am switching to Ecrater, which is a completely free market place.  It is powered by Google, so you can assume it is safe and your items will show up in the Google marketplace.  Using this blog, my FB page and various other social media sites, I hope to increase my sales immensely.  It will take me a while to get everything listed there, and occasionally I will be auctioning stuff off, using Ebay.  For the Christmas season, I will be offering super sale prices that will run for one day at a time.  The 25 Days of Sales, I think I will call it, and I will be starting it on Black Friday.  So, if you like jewelry, crochet baby items, or Art work, bookmark this blog so you don't miss any of the awesome sales I will be offering.  I am also expanding my shipping, by adding more countries besides US.  If your country is not listed in my Ecrater listing, just contact me and I will let you know how much it costs to ship.  As I am sure you are aware, I do not want to lose money on International Shipping, but do want to open up my marketplace options.  Click the link to see the few items I have been able to list so far.  Be sure and bookmark the store too.

End Of Summer Sale!

This post will stay here until my End of Summer Sale has ended, on Labor Day 2012.  Since I have been learning to paint, I have a wide variety of nice items in my Etsy store.  Used to be mostly just jewelry.  Now I have paintings, painted gifts such as Christmas ornaments, finished cross stitch pieces, loose gemstones from my collection, and of course the jewelry I make.  I still have tons of painted items to add, but I am trying to add one new piece each day.  So, be sure to check back often.  Even new items will be included in the sale.  It is simple to get the sale price, at checkout use code SUMMER12, to get 15% off my already awesome prices.  It is never too early to start thinking about the holidays, and I am not sure if I will have another sale or not.  So be sure and get the piece you love, most are one of a kind, or two of a kind.  Give a unique and specially handmade gift this year.

Day 26: Blue Jade, Antique White Pearls and Red Coral Necklace

Welcome to day 26 of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge. Today I made this lovely Blue Jade, Antique White Pearls, and Red Coral necklace. I don't care for the clasp, it just is not easy to use, so I will be changing that. This will eventually be listed in my Etsy store. It is 15 1/2 inches in length, and would fit as a lovely choker. The blue Jade is in a teardrop or briolette shape, the pearls are Swarovski antique white pearls, and the coral is such a lovely deep red color. It might be carnelian not coral. I have had these beads for a while, lol! Trying to use up my inventory with this challenge.

Sold Blue Montana Sapphire and Pink Sapphire Ring

One lucky buyer purchased my Blue Montana Sapphire and pink sapphire accent ring. She is a lucky woman, and I hope she loves it. This is my first sale from my Etsy store in a couple of months, so I am excited. I did have an interested buyer from Australia, but at this time I do not ship internationally. It is just too much of a headache here at my small town post office. They have no clue how to ship international and give me grief every time, and do it wrong sometimes. So I just stopped.

34 days until Christmas and I am pleased to offer one of my favorite pieces from my Etsy store. This is a genuine Citrine huge pear shaped pendant, with red Carnelian beads to make the necklace. My pictures do not do this piece justice. It is light on the neck, and will not weigh you down, but will give you a bold beautiful look. If you use Code 34 at cashout, I will refund 50% of your money to you. That means this beautiful necklace would only be $49.99. Citrine is the birthstone for November, and Carnelian is an alternate birthstone for August. I offer a free layaway service, and combined shipping. The codes offered on all my items are good until Christmas Eve 2010. so be sure to check the archives for some great deals, on great Christmas gift ideas.
