Aquamarine As A Healing Stone and 2 More Ebay Jewelry Sales

I had a family emergency this past Saturday. It has almost been a week, and things are still not quite normal. So, I have not been able to be creative, at least not with Art, crochet or jewelry. I hope to get back on track soon. I did have two Ebay sales this week. Both rings, and I am happy they have gone to owners that will wear and love them. Making jewelry is no fun, if no one wears what you make. I have had no Etsy sales, and I am not really surprised. Though I continue to advertise and run my store the same as always, it seems the only stores getting good sales, or any sales, are those buying ads. That is OK, as long as I am moving my products somewhere. I have halted auctions for now.

Aquamarine the March Birthstone

Did you know that blue gemstones is the most popular choice of colored gemstones in the USA? It is, mostly blue Topaz, because of its affordability. Aquamarine, is the birthstone for March. It is a beautiful blue color, ranging from light blue to a deep blue. Did you also know that most Aquamarine is heat treated to achieve the blue color? Most natural, untreated Aquamarine is a blue green color, which many buyers do not find favorable. Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl family, and has a Mohs hardness of 7-8 making it suitable for jewelry. This past Friday, my kids and I, hosted a resin class for fellow homeschool friends. My son was not incredibly interested, but he had collected some shark teeth while fossil digging recently, so I helped him set them in resin. They will be pendants soon. This is actually only my third pour, and I am still learning. Someone wanted pink resin, so we added just a tiny bit of pink acrylic paint to the resin, once it was mixed. You need to use a toothpick to add it, because if you use too much paint, the acrylic will not cure properly or the color will be too dark. I did not actually want pink resin in with my blue gemstones, but since we set up all the molds ahead of time to stay organized, one of the girls poured pink resin over my blue gemstones. The result is quite pretty. The blue is very faint in the center of the pink resin. Depending on the type of lighting, the blue is darker or lighter. These will be made into earrings, and eventually listed in my Etsy store. I just have to find the time, lol. I have so many new pieces to share with my readers, plus crochet projects, and paintings in the works. Hey All You March Babies

You are lucky enough to have Aquamarine as your birth stone. Aquamarine in its unheated variety will show a tint of green to it. Heated or treated Aqua will show no hints of green tint to them. Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl family, and can easily be confused with Blue Topaz, or even Paraiba Tourmaline and Apatite. Aquamarine can be worn as a healing crystal, and the video below explains that. The second video will tell you about the rarity of unheated Aqua. It is short but you get the idea. Most Aqua is heat treated to removed the green undertones as more customers wanted just the pure blue color.

It is already the end of March, and I have not posted a thing about Aquamarine. Aquamarine is the traditional birthstone for March babies. This ring is listed as a Blue Topaz, because I am unsure if it is Aqua or blue topaz, so I go with the more obvious. I say that because an Aqua of this size would be very pricey, and it came in a parcel, so while it could be an Aqua, the chances are slim. If you can not afford an Aquamarine of this size, then blue topaz could be an alternate for you. It could also be a blue zircon, again not sure. Aquamarine The Birthstone For March

This lovely ring, made by me, is I believe the lovely Aquamarine, which is the birthstone for March. I can not verify it yet, as I do not have all my tools yet, but it has a lovely blue color, like Aquamarine. It could be Blue Topaz, though, or any other blue gemstone. I will be getting my tools for Mothers Day, to hopefully identify stones I am not certain of. Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl family, like Emeralds, Goshenite, and Morganite. It is a very durable gemstone with a hardness of 7 1/2-8 on the Mohs hardness scale. In its finest color it looks like you are looking at the ocean. It is very often heated, to enhance color, and remove green undertones. However, the natural color, with the green undertones is increasingly becoming popular. It can be very expensive, in finer, darker colors. The very light aquas, with very little color, are not considered quality stones, though there are those that prefer that color, and price point. If you are a March baby, you need to have this lovely stone, in your collection.
