Precious Topaz, or yellow Topaz, is the traditional birthstone for November. It is a lovely yellow, to brown color, and is extremely rare, and expensive. Citrine is the more commonly used birthstone for November, as it is more readily available, and affordable.

A friend from high school has her birthday in November. I purchased a fair amount of citrine in my younger days.
