Upcyled Paper Valentine's Day Decor

I am very bad at decorating for Valentine's Day.  Matter of fact try never.  So, I decided since I am trying to get my daughter more enthused about Artsy stuff we would do some Valentine's Day decorations.  If  you are like me you have a ton of books, magazines maybe even newspaper lying around.  This cool lady shared some easy Shabby Chic ideas using old paper.  We are definitely going to try this.  I will share our results after we get them done.  This holiday will be here soon, so if you want to join in better get going.  If you join in, share a pic in the comments.  I would love to see what everyone else comes up with.

Make It Monday: Love Is In the Air

Monday, and yesterday, I set out some time to make some items for Valentine's Day.  Since I think love should be celebrated all year, give these any time of the year to be cherished and loved.  These etched glass pieces, and the one clay pot, can be used as candy dishes, candle holders, fish, small plants, etc.

I am unsure which ones will go in my Ebay shop, and which ones will go in my Etsy shop.  So be sure to check both.  I am missy69 on Etsy, and Melissas Handmade on Ebay.  I am working on some new art for the topic of love, but it encompasses more of a pink theme.  My February theme is, love, red, pink, and hearts.

The first etched glass piece is a squirrel holding a nut, and he professes I am Nuts About You!  The back side has a beautiful heart.  There is room on the sides where I could put a date and a name if desired.

The second one, is two love birds, and it says Love is patient and kind, and says Happy Valentines Day on the back.  This one I showed with the clay pot to show how if both were purchased together, how adorable it would be.

The clay pot is a new  medium of decorating clay pots for me.  I found this adorable heart ribbon, and hot glued it all around the clay pot.  You can see at the very top of the pot there is room for words and names if so desired.

All of these should be added to my stores within the next 24 hours.

Pink Solitaire Gemstone Engagement Ring

This lovely ring is new and available in my Etsy shop.  Perfect for Valentine's Day.  It is a natural pink gemstone set in a lovely thick sterling silver cathedral setting.

I have not had time to do any new bird items.  I am currently working on some rainbow penguins.  Hopefully that will be done soon. February should be much quieter around here, and hopefully I can get some good crafting done.   I am also finishing up a crochet blanket, that I love.  It will be hard to let that one go.

Make It Monday: New Etched Glass Pieces

As promised my new Ebay store is open. It actually made me use from my old shop name, from years ago, Melissa's Menagerie of Stuff. That is way too long, so I changed it to Melissa's Handmade. I wanted Missy69. because that is the hashtag for my Etsy shop, but someone already had it taken.

The first theme for January, is birds. Below you will see the beautiful etched glass vase, with hummingbirds, and a rose. This came out so lovely. Great Valentine's Day gift. It is available in my Etsy store.

The other item was actually started a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got it finished. It is a set of 5 mason jar style jars with nautical items etched into the glass. These are also quite lovely, and would make great decor for a nursery, camp, bathroom, etc. They are available in my Ebay store.

Also, as promised, I will run a different sale each month. Neither shop has the same things in it, and the sales are different. For January, all rings are 50% off. Just in time to get your sweetie a nice piece of Jewelry for Valentine's Day. Click here, to go to my Etsy shop. My Ebay shop promotion for January, is 10 dollars off select items. 22 items are eligible for this deal, and are automatically marked down. To see my new Ebay store, click here.

Some New Items For Valentine's Day!!

I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year. We did! We went out to a party, for the first time in years. My daughter went with us, and my son had a different party he went to. It was a warm, and beautiful night. Now, it is time to get ready for Valentine's Day! Below you will see three items, I just recently created for Valentine's Day. Please note, the first two pieces, were created from my own original art work, and are available on Society6 in my new art store. They are available on all kinds of different cool items, not just the blanket, and mug shown below. These make sweet gifts for the sweetie on your list. I still have tons of art work to upload there, plus I paint new items every week. Be sure to check out my new seahorse, love it!

The third item is a crocheted heart. It is just about 7 inches long, and I would use it as table decor for a Valentine's Day wedding, party, or shower. But, it can also be used as a pot holder, or hot pad. These are made to order, and can be done in other colors, unless you only want the one that is already made. They do not take long to make at all. Click the highlighted items, to visit my Etsy store, and my Society6 art shop. Remember, you can always ask me questions about custom orders, and designs. I have some heart jewelry items that I hope to be working on this weekend.

You can always find me by searching Missy69 on Society6, or Missy69 on Etsy.  A very easy way to find me, and my items.

White and Red with Hearts and Pearls Crochet Bag

With the nasty cold weather, I have been hibernating. While I hibernate, I crochet, make new resin pieces and jewelry. This is my first attempt at crocheting hearts. It is not exactly perfect like I want, but it is adorable. This a white bag, with red bottom and handles, crocheted red heart appliques with pearl centers. I actually made this to be a bag to carry my new Bible in, but the Bible is too heavy, lol. So, I will have to go back to the drawing board for that. This is available to purchase in my Etsy store, and will be in my Ecrater store soon.

Valentines Day Painted Gift Bag and Heart Candle Jar

I poured my first layer of resin, into my molds, last evening, and the second layer this morning. They are not ready to pop yet, but I can't wait to share them. I was kind of disappointed with the way the glitter ended up, but it is my first time, so I have already learned something very important. Last evening I also painted this little girl I Love You, Valentines Day gift bag. Actually I had to repaint her face because the first one was definitely not cute at all. She has lovely blonde curly hair and blue eyes. I am really pleased with this bag. It is signed and dated, can be reused or if you really love it you could frame it and keep it forever. Then I painted a Valentines Day heart upcycled candle jar. This one came out nice. It has a black base, three layers of paint, and the heart was left clear with just red outlining. Then I painted on rosebuds, and other pretty flowers. It too is signed and dated. Both of these items will be available to purchase in my Etsy and Ecrater stores later today. You can visit both stores by clicking on the widgets in the top and sidebars.
