Sapphire is the birthstone, for the month of September. Sapphires are some of the most beautiful, and expensive gemstones to man. Known as one of the precious gemstones, it has a hardness of 9, and is the original gemstone given for engagement, before diamonds became marketed as such. I will be dedicating the month of September to this amazing gemstone, starting with a virtual tour of a sapphire gemstone mine. It is short, but interesting.
