OK, this is the cutest crochet baby hat ever, from Shelleyscrochetole.  Get it for Halloween or baby's first Thanksgiving photos.
Last from Missy69, is this abstract acrylic horse painting.  Decorate your home for the season with this beautiful art work.

Time For Some Changes

March has already proven to be an interesting month.  Some in a good way, and some not so good.  My 6 month experiment for Ebay vs Etsy is done.  I have made some observations and conclusions.  Yes, I did sell on Ebay. Not a ton, but more than I have on Etsy.  But, my fees were substantially higher, and though handmade items can be sold on Ebay, customers there are not willing to pay for what you think your hard work and effort is worth.  You don't really have to advertise your goods on Ebay, that is taken care of for you.  With Etsy self promotion is extremely important, and needed.  Etsy listings last three months, Ebay only 30 days for store listings.  So, with all that said my Ebay store will be closed as of April 1st.  My inventory will slowly be moved back to Etsy, and some will be saved for gifts and donations for the needy.  I have several items ready to be donated, I just have not had time to prepare them to be shipped.  I will use Ebay still, for an occasional awesome auction, and to sell used clothes and other items we no longer want or use.

I will be going back to school, shortly.  That means I will have substantially less time for creating new items.  I have a huge inventory anyways, so that might not be a bad thing.  I will continue to paint when I can, but crocheting and jewelry making will probably go by the way side.  I will continue to blog, and add cool tutorials and info, so that won't change.  My Jewelry in Candles experiment also didn't work out, so that will be removed from the blog as well.  My Etsy store widget will be added once again.

I think that is it for now.  Have an awesome weekend!

Some Finished Resin Pieces Made Into Headbands Angel Kitten

This is the second headband in my headband series. The other one was red and white with a chunky glitter heart as the center of the flower. It is also available in my Etsy store.

This one, modeled by my 10 yr old, is Hunter Green with an Antique White flower. The center of the flower is one of my resin pieces, featuring a white angel kitten with rainbow wings. I have several other pieces I plan on making into headbands too. If you want any particular kind, ask me, I might be able to do it. This is available in my Etsy store now.

My Custom Made Wedding Anniversary, Mother's Day, and Birthday Gift all in one

When I saw this ring, from Etsy seller, Stones and Gold, I just had to have it. I contacted the seller to see if they would do a layaway plan with me, and if the ring could be made in a 4 1/2. They said yes to both. So, I put it on layaway, and it just came today. I am so very pleased with this, Pink Tourmaline and Diamond ring, in white gold. I have made my own wedding bands in the past, but never diamonds. Diamonds are hard to get, grade, and buy in my opinion, plus to find a white gold setting in my size, well it would all be not worth the work to me to do it. The Pink Tourmaline has awesome color, and a perfect size for me, about 1/2 carat. The diamonds are clear and white, and sparkling. I am very pleased, and excited to show it off.

Hand Made Beaded Bubble Wands for Birthdays, Weddings, or Graduation

Need a cool party favor that is safe for the environment? Then check out my hand beaded bubble wands. These are great for birthday parties, baby or wedding showers, graduations, or wedding ceremonies. I will be selling these in lots of five through my Etsy store. If you want a large order I can work out a deal for you on pricing. These are time consuming to make, especially the tiny seed bead ones. I can do color combos and schemes, so please ask if you are interested.  As you can see from the image they work awesome, and my daughter had a blast testing them for me.  Visit my Etsy store for details.

42 Days Until Christmas Royal Purple Amethyst Ring

I have been catching up on a lot of blog reading, groups, and forums for Etsy sellers. There seems to be a lot of talk about resellers on Etsy. You are supposed to report such stores so it can be investigated. Well must be I was reported because I had to provide a whole bunch of info to Etsy. At first I was offended, then I got over it. I assure you my jewelry is made by me. If it is not, and it is vintage, I clearly state that in the listing. I do not make my own settings, though it is a goal for the future. My settings and semi mounts are purchase from Rio Grande, JTV, and Ebay and a few other sources those are my main ones. If anyone ever has a question about my pieces, please feel free to ask me.

For day 42 on my Countdown to Christmas I am offering this lovely Amethyst ring from my Etsy store. If you use Code 42 at cashout, I refund 50% of your money, which means this ring will only cost you $12.50. The codes for all my jewelry pieces will work until December 24th. So be sure to check out my other Etsy items I have listed on this blog for the countdown. I offer a layaway plan too. Be sure to ask all questions you need to.

Top 2 Posts For 2009

So what were the top 2 posts, for this blog, in 2009. The number one post was my contest for a pink tourmaline ring, with 30 comments. You can read the post here, if you like. It was a contest in honor of my 40th birthday, and Sandi was the winner. I hope to have as much success, with my new monthly contests, for Crafting for Moms.

The number two post, with 14 comments, was titled Fun Friday Featured Etsy Store, Circle in the Sand. That was for a feature I did for a while on Friday's, but eventually ran out of people interested. Ducky has a wonderful store, and if you would like to check out the post again, it is here.

I hope 2010 will be successful for all my Etsy friends, and fellow bloggers.

Fun Friday Hemlock Hollow Creations Etsy Store

Yay it is Fun Friday yet again, and you know what that means? I get to feature a craft blogger, or fellow Etsy store. This week is Hemlock Hollow Creations, and this lovely necklace. I am not very good at beading, though it is not from not trying, I just can't get the hang of it. So I am always checking out other beading items, to see all their cool designs. This is a unakite, and Chinese orange serpentine carved focal bead necklace. This is a very unique piece, and just the loveliest colors for fall. Serpentine, and Unakite are both natural gemstones, and are not man made. If you would like more info on this piece, and to see all her other lovely pieces, please visit Hemlock Hollow Creations, today.

If you would like your blog, or Etsy store featured, on a Fun Friday, then leave a comment, and the address to your site. They are first come first, serve, in the order they come in. I promise I will get to them all, and you will be notified when you are featured.

Canary Yellow Tourmaline Ooh La La

I would like to remind everyone, about my sales promotion. The first person to buy 25 dollars, before shipping, from my Etsy store, will get a free SS Black Sapphire ring, which is pictured in a previous post. I only have one, and the first person, to verify purchase through this blog, will win it.

Tourmaline, is such an amazing gemstone. It comes in almost every color of the rainbow, and is a very durable and tough stone. Canary yellow tourmaline is a new find of gemstones, out of Africa. Though yellow tourmaline is not new, it always had just a hint of brown to it. This new find of tourmaline, when heated, turned an amazing canary yellow color, and is flawlessly clean. This one pictured, is unheated, and therefore natural in its color. It does have a very slight hint of brown to it. It is also pleochroic, with changes to lovely green colors. I actually set it in a marquis setting, because it would absolutely not set in any oval setting I tried. I absolutely love this stone, and hope to get one of the canary colored tourmalines, someday.
