Learn to Crochet the Triple Crochet Stitch

Here in FL, we are bracing for Hurricane Matthew. It has moved more north, and is scraping the East coast. Since I am more West, Hurricane Hermine had a bigger impact on us. But, we are starting to get the heavy rain bands, even inland, and winds. So, I still have to watch for tornadoes and flooding. Learning to crochet is an awesome hobby.

The next stitch I want to share with you is the Triple Crochet, which is very often referred to as the Treble Crochet. Again, not a super hard stitch, and once you get it down, you will be making afghans, and baby blankets like crazy. I like to donate some of my crocheted items to various charities that accept crochet items. Newborn in Needs, is one I have used, and Warm Up America. Remember practice makes perfect!

If you have a craft blog, Etsy shop, or otherwise handmade goods, join in my weekly link up party found on the left hand sidebar. All I ask is that you click the links ahead of you, and promote the blog. You can post a new link every day.

My New Theme Friday Etsy Finds

On my Facebook page, each week, I would do a Theme Friday post. Anyone who entered an item to fit the theme got in my Etsy Treasury on Saturday. I have been doing that for about a year now, and now I am bored with it, very bored. So, I thought I would use the power of blogging and social media to help boost Theme Friday items. The result is each member that submits an item to fit the theme will get it shared on my personal FB profile, Tweeted, Pinned, favorite on Etsy, and then each Saturday shared on this blog. Since I use traffic exchange to help with exposure to my blogs, this should help each item get lots of exposure. I only had two entries this week, plus mine of course. Check them out and visit each item in their respective stores. You never know you might find something you can not live without. This weeks theme was, Mother's Day Gifts 20 dollars or under.   The first item is mine, and it is on Clearance.  Be sure to check out all my Clearance items.  This is a new section in my store to hopefully get some inventory moving a bit faster.  All are less than what I paid to make the item including supplies and time.  Here is the link to the first item https://www.etsy.com/listing/50557952/clearance-raspberry-pink-rhodolite?  Grr I have no idea why I can not write right next to the picture.  Anyway the second candle is a soy candle.  If your mom loves candles check it out, awesome price too https://www.etsy.com/listing/130263156/cashmere-silk-downy-type-woodwick?ref=usr_faveitems   The third item is a lovely pink button and rose bracelet, again an awesome price.  Since they are all under 20 dollars they are all pretty awesome.  Here is the link for the bracelet https://www.etsy.com/listing/129606514/shades-of-pink-flower-button-bracelet?ref=usr_faveitems  If you would like to join in the Theme Friday topic, and get your items shown lots of love, click the large widget to the left that will lead you to my page, then just like the page and remember to check each Friday.

Fun Friday Grandma Lindas House Etsy Shop

This week for Fun Friday, I get to feel like a kid again. Today I am featuring the Etsy shop Grandma Lindas House. She has the cutest, Barbie doll outfits ever. I loved Barbie when I was a little girl. I am aging myself, but I had the first jointed Barbie that they made. I loved her so much I cut her hair LOL. My mother was not happy. Between my sisters, and I we must have had every Barbie, and accessory ever made, up until like 1985, when my youngest sister outgrew them. I absolutely love this Barbie outfit pictured. Is it not cool? She looks so glamorous. I have a five year old daughter who is just getting into Barbie now. I hope she will love her as much as I did.

Grandma Lindas House, also offers hats, mittens, scarves, baby outfits, and so much more. Be sure to check out her shop. Winter, and Christmas are both coming, and she has items that would make great gifts.

If you would like your Etsy shop, or craft blog featured on Fun Friday, just leave me a comment, and be sure to leave your store, or blog address.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Fun Friday Evies Tool Emporium Etsy Shop

Well it is Friday again, and that means Fun Friday. This is my third Fun Friday post, and this week is Evies Tool Emporium. Evie's Etsy store features, all kinds of tools needed for making jewelry, and crafting in general. Her prices are fair, and she has a good selection. Of all her things, the one thing I do not have is a caliper, and hers is electronic too, even better. I currently measure my stones, using a standard mm ruler. It is accurate, but not always easy to see, with my old lady eyes. So, if my husband reads this, I could use this for Christmas. She has pliers, hammers, a vice, soldering tools, magnifiers, loupes, and tons of other great items. So be sure to stop by Evies Tool Emporium, and take a look around. It doesn't hurt to add her shop to your favorites either.

If you would like to be featured on Fun Friday, leave a comment with your Etsy store name, or your craft blog. Either will be accepted. I do have a waiting list, and they go in the order I got them, but they will all be gotten to. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Fun Friday Jills Treasure Chest Etsy Store

Welcome to Fun Friday. Each Friday I will be featuring a craft blog, or Etsy store. I have several in line now, but if you would like to get in line, be sure to leave me a comment, and the address of your store, or craft blog.

This week I am featuring a wonderful Etsy store, called Jills Treasure Chest. She makes ceramics, and jewelry. I must say as a fellow jewelry maker, her pieces are lovely, and I have no idea how to do ceramics, so of course I am jealous. She makes the cutest Angels. If you collect angels, be sure to check out Abigail, and Anabella, and they are kitties too.

If I had to pick one item I would love to own, it would have to be one of her handmade ceramic Santas. I love Christmas, and all the symbols that go along with it. Look at the picture, it is the cutest farmer Santa. She has several choices in her Etsy shop. If I get a few extra bucks, I might just have to make this Santa mine. Be sure to stop by, and check out her shop, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for stopping by, for another Fun Friday, have a great weekend.

Red and Gold The Colors Of Fall

I know it is winter, but the colors of this new ring remind me of Fall. I purchased the semi mount from one of my favorite sellers on Ebay, then set the pear shaped red gemstone in the semi mount. It is a size 7, sterling silver ring. The accent stones are orange sapphires, and the center stone is either a Red Garnet, or could be Red Labradorite. Since it came in a parcel, I can not say for sure. It is a genuine gemstone, and as you can see a lovely piece. This ring will be available for sale in my Etsy store The price will be 39.99 If you buy through this blog, you will get 5 dollars off, and free shipping. Contact me for more info. I had three more sales in my Etsy store yesterday. I am so happy about that. My gemstone ornaments, and Iolite ring all sold.

Rhodolite Garnet The Rose Garnet

Garnet is one of the most versatile, and colorful gemstones, in the world. It comes in almost every color imaginable, except blue, and is completely natural, with no treatments needed. Rhodolite Garnet, is the reddish, pink colored Garnet. It is sometimes called the Raspberry Garnet, due to its color. It can be found in varying hues of reddish pink, and even some purple hues. My favorite is the hues that have more pink, thank purple. This lovely ring, holds a 6mmx4mm oval Rhodolite Garnet gemstone, set in a sterling silver, cz semimount. The result is this lovely, yet dainty ring. It is big enough to be noticed, but not gaudy if you have a smaller hand like myself. All Garnets have a hardness of 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. It makes it a durable gemstone, but you do have to use care when wearing for everyday wear, or while cleaning. If you do not have Rhodolite Garnet in your collection, I highly recommend it. It is one of the more affordable varieties of the rare Garnet group. This lovely ring, is available for sale in my Etsy store.

Wire Wrapped Freshwater Blue Pearl Pendant With Drop

I love pearls, and these lovely little blue pearls, are just lovely. This lovely little pendant, I made using silver plated wire, freshwater blue pearls, and a plastic teardrop bead. It really is not very little, it measures from bail to bottom 2 inches, by 1 1/4 inches at the widest spot. The bail is nice and big, and an omega could probably fit in it. This lovely pendant, can be purchased in my Etsy store. Please feel free to leave any comments, and or constructive criticism.
