Lovely Sterling Silver Green Peridot Ring

I finally got to make some new jewelry pieces, with traditional settings, and gemstones from my personal collection. I love Peridot! It is my birthstone, and in the lime green, that looks like fresh grass, is my favorite hue. Peridot can have more yellow undertones, and it can also be bland and blah. I love vibrant, bright, beautiful Peridot. The ring below is sterling silver, and this ring is made well with a thick silver band. It is a size 7, and I would wear it as an engagement ring. Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, and I hope to get some info up soon about this beautiful gemstone.  I do have blue gemstones, in my collection, and some jewelry, but I am not positive they are Aquamarine.

Orange Garnet Pear Shape Sterling Silver Ring Size 6

This beautiful ring has been in my Etsy store, for what seems like forever. I would so love for it to belong to someone who will enjoy wearing it. It is a sterling silver chevron style filigree ring, with a 6mmx4mm pear shape orange garnet. This could be another orange gemstone, but I am almost positive it is a garnet. Garnet is the birth stone for January, and most January babies do not realize their gemstone comes in other colors than red. The fact is Garnet comes in almost all colors. Alexandrite One of My Favorite Birth Stones

June has two birth stones, both of which are personal favorites of mine. I will start with the Alexandrite, named after Czar Alexander from Russia. It is a color change gemstone, going from green to red depending on lighting. India also has Alexandrite, but Russia is the most valuable source. To get a 100% color change is extremely rare. Most color change gemstones, only change a percentage amount. Some are called only color shift, because the change is such a small amount. I had two Alexandrites, on I sold, and one I kept. The one I kept I placed in a ring, and wore it every day for years. One year, unbeknownst to me it had fallen out of my ring, and I could find it nowhere. I was heart broken. If you can not afford Alexandrite, there are synthetic stones that are very nice. You can get a large synthetic with excellent color and color change for a small price compared to genuine Alexandrite.

 The picture shown below, is not Alexandrite. It is color shift Green Labradorite, some call it Andesine, but it has not been tested to be Andesine, but it was sold to me as Andesine. Anyway it is a color shift gemstone, and you should be able to see that in the image. It is set in a sterling silver ring. This ring is available in my store until July 5, 2014, and then it will be retired and no linger listed in my store. So, if you want a lovely color change/shift gemstone this one is affordable, but don't delay it will end soon. I offer a free layaway service.

My New Theme Friday Etsy Finds

On my Facebook page, each week, I would do a Theme Friday post. Anyone who entered an item to fit the theme got in my Etsy Treasury on Saturday. I have been doing that for about a year now, and now I am bored with it, very bored. So, I thought I would use the power of blogging and social media to help boost Theme Friday items. The result is each member that submits an item to fit the theme will get it shared on my personal FB profile, Tweeted, Pinned, favorite on Etsy, and then each Saturday shared on this blog. Since I use traffic exchange to help with exposure to my blogs, this should help each item get lots of exposure. I only had two entries this week, plus mine of course. Prasiolite and Red Sapphire Ring

Prasiolite, sometimes called Green Amethyst, is a member of the quartz family, and is created by heat treating very pale purple Amethyst. It is a soft, minty green color. Like all quartz it is a durable gemstone. This lovely ring is sterling silver, size 6, featuring a 8mmx6mm emerald cut Prasiolite gemstone, with two red sapphire accent stones on the shoulders. It is a 5mm Trillian shape, set into a sterling silver, with rhodium plating, with tons of sparkling CZ's all around it, and down the shoulders of the ring as well. Silver Semi Mount With Orange Sapphires

I recently found this sterling silver semi mount from one of my favorite Ebay sellers. I have been looking for a setting to put a pear shaped smokey quartz into. I wanted pink gemstones, but that has been difficult to find. I did find this lovely one with orange sapphires, as the accent stones. I think a lovely chocolate smokey quartz would look awesome in there. What do you think? I can not wait to get it.

Petit Lavender Tanzanite and White Sapphire Rin

I am unsure of why I had such a hard time getting a clear shot, of this lovely ring. I will try to get a few more, to show it a little better. It is a sterling silver, size 6 Lavender Tanzanite, and White Sapphire ring. The Tanzanite measures only 5mmx4mm oval, and has round white sapphires surrounding it. SS Faceted Black Onyx Rope Design Earrings

These are sterling silver Black Onyx post earrings. They are 10mmx8mm oval faceted genuine Black Onyx gemstones. They are a good size, but not too large, and do not have much of a dangle to them, so they could be worn in professional settings. You can not really tell by my picture but they have a fancy rope design around the edge. These are bezel set, no prongs. Pink Zircon and CZ Ring

Zircon is one of the oldest gemstones, known to man. It is almost always natural in color, with no enhancements. Matter of fact the CZ which is a man made gemstone, was made because of the popularity, and scarcity of natural Zircon. Zircon can be found in a variety of colors. This one was sold to me as Imperial Zircon, which I am not sure what that means, but it is a pinky peach, with a hint of orange color. It is a 6mm Trillion that I set in a stunning sterling silver, size 6, cz semi mount. It is rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing, that also means it can not be sized. This stunning ring will be available to purchase, in my missy69 Etsy store. Zircon is a very durable gemstone with a hardness of 8, on the Mohs hardness scale.

My Sister's Earrings

My sister asked me to make her a pair of Blue Topaz earrings. These are those earrings. I just did them yesterday, and will be shipping them off to her soon. Blue Topaz is her husband's birthstone, and that is what she requested. They are 4mm rounds, set in sterling silver. She wanted studs so she could wear them to work. I will be making more of these, and they will be available for sale, in my Etsy store for 14.99 per pair.

Teal Topaz With Pink Inlaid Mother Of Pearl

I bought the pink inlaid Mother Of Pearl semi mount, from Jewelry Television. It is sterling silver, with a half bezel mount. I will not by the bezel setting again, I just do not like the way the stones get set in there. I have used back set bezel settings, and they were okay. They are also nice if you have a delicate stone you do not want to ding. Anyway I do love the pink inlaid mother of pearl, just not the half bezel setting. It did come out quite lovely though, when finished.

Topaz does not come out of the ground this color. It is either heat treated, or irradiated to achieve the desired color. White Topaz is very abundant, thank goodness, as that is what is used to get all the wonderful colors that Topaz comes in. This ring is not for sale, it will be staying in my collection. However I do have other loose gemstones in this variety, so be sure to watch for more if you love this color. I also have a pair of earrings in Teal Topaz that are available for sale.
