Change is good! I have reopened a new Etsy Pattern store, called the Pink Flamingo. I have a ton of inventory to list, and could take a while. I am looking at some other new creative endeavors that have more to do with teaching. My kids are growing up, and it is time to expand my wings. Join me in this new creative adventure!

Father's Day Gifts
I am feeling a little bit blah about Etsy of late. I don't know what happened there, but I suspect since they went public profits is what is on their mind. There are a lot of low priced, manufactured, rather than hand made items now, and I think that has cut into the handmade market. I try to keep my prices as low as I can, and offer great sales, but mass produced items can be priced so much lower. It might be time to consider other options soon. I realize you have to spend money to make money, but for how long. I had fair sales the last two years, and since November, well, bleh. If you have never heard of Etsy, check it out.
This is a Polyvore set. To see each item there, click the links under the image. That will take you to Polyvore, and then if you are still interested you can click the image again and it will take you to the original shop to purchase.

Make It Monday Patriotic Gifts
Before I get to Make it Monday, I am letting my readers know I will be shutting down my PatternbyEtsy shop at the end of May. My regular Etsy shop will remain. I left Etsy feedback as to the things I thought would make Pattern awesome. All regular Etsy shops will have guest checkout, which is one of the main reasons I opened a Pattern shop. Now, all my customers can use guest checkout if they want to while shopping right at my main Etsy shop. Don't forget about my two sale sections, clearance sale, and 10 dollar gift ideas. One of my favorite bracelets sold out yesterday.
Today, for Make it Monday, I decided to take my love of painting, to make some patriotic items. First is an apron, with flags, and an eagle. Second is a pair of girls size 2 canvas sneakers with red white and blue flags. Both of these can have names and dates added, so do that when ordering. Great gifts for Father's Day, military members, parties etc. I am going to try to get some matching glasses done also. These two items will be listed in my Etsy shop tomorrow.

Evening Hike Father and Son Acrylic Painting for Father's Day
So, I was looking around my Etsy shop, and I realized I really don't have any gifts for a Dad, or a man period. So, now until Father's Day, my art, and hopefully some crochet and jewelry too, will be centered around things a man might like. I just finished this painting last night. I am so pleased with how it came out. The colors are still vivid, and bright, even though the sun is setting. My dad was not as big as I would have liked him, then my son pointed out he looked almost too big. LOL, oh well. Moms are awesome but Dads, especially active Dads in their kids lives, are awesome too. Visit my Etsy shop, to check out all my items. I offer layaway, and free USA shipping, all year, all the time.

New Baby Infant Boy Cocoon Golf Theme Brown and Green with Hat
I finally finished the infant baby boy cocoon, in a Golf theme. These are not hard to make, but they are kind of time consuming to put together, and I just have to force myself to do it. The color of this is Mocha Latte and Hunter Green. I have mentioned before that I am pom pom illiterate, so the hat actually looks like it has a golf ball up there. This would make an adorable photo prop for a baby boy born around Father's Day. Plus cocoons are warm and baby feels extremely safe inside. Check out this cocoon, and all my baby cocoons in my Etsy store.
