Making A New Blog (Update)

This blog will probably, eventually just go defunct.  Even though I already changed the name, after thinking about it, it makes sense to just make a whole new The I Can Blog.  I will add a link to this post, once it is set up.  I will probably leave it with Blogger, though I will look at Wordpress, just because I am already familiar with Blogger.  Since I want it to be a Health Buddy/Coaching blog, I need to look at some things, like a new email, possibly encrypted just for this blog, a Paypal account just for this blog, etc.  That will be what I will be doing for the month of December.  Watch for the link and my first post which will be an about me post.

Where to Start? New Redbubble Art

I haven't blogged in so long I don't know where to start. I have been so busy with my son's homeschool graduation, new job stuff, old job stuff, and homeschooling my other child, that I just have not kept up my blogging. I have not been able to be as crafty as I like, but I have gotten some new stuff done. I started a Nurse art line, and so far 3 have been completed. Below you will see the Nurses are Wise, Owl bag. This is all my original art, and is available on a variety of items. These are great gift ideas for any nurse you know. All nurses love tote bags, lol. It is getting too hot to do any more glass etching until Fall, but I am still crocheting, and of course painting. My daughter and I are going to start doing Tie Died items. Hopefully some new items for that as well, soon. I thought I might try my hand at writing. Not sure when I will fit that in, lol.

Make it Saturday!

As I stated previously, I had to switch to Make it Saturday, due to my work schedule.  I really have been trying diligently to edit pics, and get them uploaded to products on Redbubble.  You can see  my new items by clicking here.  I finished one crochet neckerchief, and that is about it.  I have been so busy planning a homeschool graduation, homeschooling my kids, and getting ready to redo our floors, that being creative has not been in the cards.  I did get some gardening done, but still so much more I would like to do there.  I saw a cool thing on Pinterest where someone painted murals on their privacy fence.  I have no idea why I didn't think of that myself, but it will be added to my very long list of things to do.  I have been researching jewelry trends for the 2018 year, and am going to try to get some new pieces done soon.  We are on spring break next week, so I hope to get a bunch of stuff done.  I haven't even had time for new glass etching pieces, or wood burning. 

That brings me to my next point.  I was doing a new theme for each month, mostly based around holidays.  Unfortunately it has been hard to keep up with that.  By the time I get time to finish something the holiday is here, and it is too late.  So, I am going to do away with the monthly theme.  I have some ideas on projects, like the jewelry trends, and I want to do some political art, and maybe try something new with my art projects.  Of course I love to crochet, but I am sort of in a slump there.  I need to do glass etching, because once it is too hot, I won't be able to do it anymore until fall.  I also am slowly moving items to my Ebay shop, and am considering going to my local flea market.  As soon as I get time, lol.  You can always find me on Ebay by searching for Melissas Handmade, or Etsy by searching Missy69, and that is the same for Redbubble.  I have not sold anything there yet.  Wouldn't you love to be my first sale?  I bought a new digital camera, but it didn't come with a memory card, so now I have to get one.

Make It Monday: Hearts Galore Etched Glass Vase

For Make it Monday this week, I created this beautiful pink bud vase, the graduation mug, and a new art piece for Redbubble. Staying with the theme of pink, red, hearts and love.

 First up is a pink glass vase, that I used my Dremmel to etch on the words All of My Love, and Hugs and Kisses. This will be a made to order item in my Etsy, and Ebay store, as the one shown was created for my son to give to his girlfriend. He is putting chocolate kisses in it, and one long stem rose. Great for weddings, anniversaries, engagements or Valentine's Day.

 The large glass mug was created for my son's graduation in April. I am hoping people will put coins in it. I used my Dremmel to etch the words, Let the Adventure Begin. On the opposite side it has his name, Valedictorian, and Class of 2018 etched into the glass. This also will be a made to order item in both my Etsy, and Ebay stores. They will all be listed by tomorrow February 15th, or 16th.

Make it Monday: Bird Feather Doodle Art

I actually got called into work yesterday, so couldn't do any stuff on Monday. We have been in a deep freeze here in FL. It finally warmed up yesterday. I can't do glass etching when it is too hot, or too cold. Since, I missed Monday, and was pinched for time to do glass etching, I did some doodle art with the theme of birds, namely bird feather doodle art. I love doodle art, it is the best. Done with a variety of mediums, and will be available on Redbubble, probably tomorrow.

 I continue to work on the new crochet blanket, which doesn't have anything to do with birds, but oh will it be beautiful. I think I said my theme for February would be Valentine's Day, but actually it will be love. Don't forget to check out my January sales in both my Etsy shop, and my Ebay shop. Each has their own set of items, and different sales. Redbubble runs sales too, but I have no control over those.

Make It Monday!

So, I have missed a few Mondays, lol. I have been busy creating, just not necessarily on Monday. I did the rings before we evacuated for Irma, but could not get a blog post done. The others I did after we returned, sporadically, when I got a chance. Now that we are back to homeschooling, Mondays might be any day of the week.

 I finally got my crochet hooded poncho completed, and I love it. It is so warm. It is not for me, though, lol. It is available for purchase in my Etsy shop, and can be made to order in other colors. The rings are also listed in my Etsy shop, two Zandrite, and one Amethyst. You can always find me by searching Missy69 on Etsy, Mrr05 on Ebay, and Missy69 on Redbubble. Which reminds me the last item is my Halloween painting for 2017, Bat Kisses. This one is an edited version of the original painting, using photo shop features. I edited it several times, with some cool looks. All of them will eventually be available on gift items on Redbubble.

 I have started a new crochet project, which should go pretty fast, I hope. I have a new ring setting coming, and it is getting cool enough to start back up with wood burning projects, and etched glass projects. Just in time for the Holidays!

Make It Monday: Owl Clay Pot, and Teach Love Not Hate Art

This week for Make it Monday, I made a lovely zentangle owl clay pot, that I just love. I am all out of the bigger clay pots now, again, but I have some little ones that I might make some cute Halloween ghosts or something. This will be for sale in my Etsy store, Missy69. I took a nice close up, so no pot was showing to see if I can upload to Redbubble items. We will see.

 The second items, is Teach Love Not Hate, and is hand drawn and painted. This is only my second time drawing hands, so it took me several attempts to get it right. I really love how this one came out too. This item will be available on various products on my Redbubble account, Missy69 

 I am finally almost done with the hooded cape. I have been really pushing myself to work on it. It is really quite lovely, and will be super warm too. Right now as I type this it is 101 degrees outside, so super warm is not something I need, lol.

Make It Monday: Purple Mountain Sunset

I actually did start this on Monday, then finished it last evening. I love how this came out. Done with Sharpie markers, paint pens, and even a little acrylics. I still have two fairy houses to finish, fairy garden stepping stones, graduation art for 2018, and a crochet shawl wrap that is going to be spectacular when it is done. Make it Monday: Fall Halloween Theme Painted Wooden Fairy House with Pumpkin Totem Stools Included

Yesterday, for Make it Monday, I was able to get a new Fairy House done. It is painted black with orange and yellow flowers. The two stools that go with the house, are painted pumpkins make into a totem stool. I also painted a pair of canvas sneakers with glow in the dark paint, also in a Fall theme, but don't have a pic for those yet. Make it Monday Painted Butterfly Tshirt and Halloween Art

Yay, I got my Make it Monday post done on time this week. As the Summer heats up, I start thinking of Fall and upcoming holidays. Zentangle, or Doodle Art, is my favorite type of Art to draw and paint. It helps my brain to think abstractly, something I am not traditionally very good at. The pumpkin below, was just finished last night. I hand draw my designs, unless on the Tshirt, those are iron ons and then hand painted. A couple of years ago I tried to sell on Society6, so I could list on Etsy like tons of other sellers do.  But the outside manufacturer application was a pain, and I didn't do it right.  Etsy will not let you apply a second time.  Anyway, I had to figure out how to tell my image size, and since my regular camera broke I had to take images with my cell phone.  I finally figured how to do HD pictures that would be the right size.  But, then I couldn't get Society6 to work, so I went to Redbubble instead.  Redbubble is easier, anyway, in my opinion.  Plus, you can set how much profit you want to make for each item.  I have not messed with that yet, but I think I will charge a little bit more for original paintings, than photography just because there is way more work involved.  You can shop for my designs, or millions of other artists, placed on cool items like mugs, tees, pillows, and so much more. You can find me on Redbubble by doing a search for Missy69.  Right now if you use code Thirtyoff you will get 30% off  Men's apparel items.  They are always offering sales, so be sure to check it often.  

I also decided to take advantage of Ebay's 50 free listings each month, to try and move some inventory a little bit faster.  I was doing auctions, but now have changed to fixed price, with make an offer option.  I am slowly adding items there, some have sold already.  Here is one item, but you can click see other items, to see the rest.  I am deciding on an Ebay store, vs PatternbyEtsy with my own domain.  They both have pros and cons, and I am weighing them both.  Pattern recently made some great changes, so I need to evaluate carefully.

Make it Monday: Gentle Waves Crochet Baby Boy Crochet Blanket

For Make it Monday, this week, I finally finished my next baby blanket. This one is for a boy, but could be unisex if you wanted it to be. It is white with variegated blue border. The border is shell stitch and it just looks like gentle ocean waves to me. I love the border yarn, it is my first time using that brand. I am currently working on an owl backpack in that exact yarn. So, be sure to watch for that!
