Ruby-Throated Hummingbird Acrylic Painting Missy69

As you can see, I am not blogging as much as I would like to. I need to get onto some kind of a schedule, like I used to. My homeschool blog is need of attention as well. Oh well.

I actually did two of these ruby-throated hummingbird paintings, one facing East, and the other West. I was going to list them together, but then I thought what if someone only wants one. They are painted exactly the same, and both are available in my Etsy shop.  If they look a little bit different it is because I had to use two different cameras, so lighting setting was different.   They are done on wrapped canvas, ready to hang, all done in acrylic measuring 10x8. I am super pleased with how they came out, and they will look beautiful hanging on any wall. Check them out in my Etsy store.

I had my first crochet item sale, yesterday. I love to crochet, and was thinking of giving it up, as I have no need for all these baby things. But, now I have renewed hope, lol.

Football Peacock Red Black and White Abstract Art

I finally remembered to get more paint paper, so I can continue with my football team color peacocks. This is the fourth one in the series, and is Black Red and White, for say the Falcons, or any other team with those colors. These make great gift ideas, and I offer free usa shipping and a layaway service. See it in my Etsy shop.

I am still working on an angel table cloth, and the pink and purple bedroom set for a toddler girl.I am also brewing around in my brain for some beaded angels, or other cute ornaments.  Maybe some nurse, that would be awesome!

Are You Ready For Some Football?

I love football, but mostly just the pros. My hubby watches it all, but the NFL is my preference. I also love peacocks. So, I drew out a peacock, then painted it in the colors of my beloved Buffalo Bills, red and royal blue. I will be doing one painting in each team's colors. A more feminine football painting. If you are interested in one of these, contact me through my Etsy shop, and I will do your colors next. Each will be available in my Etsy store. I also will be making redneck wedding glasses, they are so cute, and am finishing up a Fairy Queen crochet infant Halloween costume, in purple and black. Not much jewelry making, just not in the mood for it. Check out my Etsy shop for all my cool items. I offer layaway! I just sold out of the soft pink resin butterfly keychain. So, if you wanted that, it is gone. This peacock painting will be available tomorrow, 8/14 in my Etsy shop.  Most renewals, and new items are listed on Friday through Sunday, so keep that in mind.

White and Soft Pink Calla Lilies with Black Background Acrylic Art Painting

I think I mentioned that I attempted to do the One Stroke method for Calla Lily flowers. The results were awful, three wasted papers of awful, lol. So, I sat down to try again, except this time I drew all the flowers, leaves and stems, then painted it with acrylics. This is done on nice thick acid free art paper, and is available in my Etsy shop. I actually will be doing white Calla Lilies on black flip flops, soon. So, be sure to watch for them. I bought three pairs of flip flops, so I can get a lot done on Monday. I think I will do a pair in honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday, also. I did not get any crocheting done this week, but I will be starting a stuffed animal holder next week, for my daughter. Then I will be starting on a toddler pull up 1st birthday diaper cake. That one should be fun to make. Some jewelry, hopefully, in the line up as well.

Evening Hike Father and Son Acrylic Painting for Father's Day

So, I was looking around my Etsy shop, and I realized I really don't have any gifts for a Dad, or a man period. So, now until Father's Day, my art, and hopefully some crochet and jewelry too, will be centered around things a man might like. I just finished this painting last night. I am so pleased with how it came out. The colors are still vivid, and bright, even though the sun is setting. My dad was not as big as I would have liked him, then my son pointed out he looked almost too big. LOL, oh well. Moms are awesome but Dads, especially active Dads in their kids lives, are awesome too. Visit my Etsy shop, to check out all my items. I offer layaway, and free USA shipping, all year, all the time.

Painted Keepsake Box Rosebuds and Berries

So, I was all excited to paint this wooden keepsake box. I had all intentions to give it to my daughter, no matter how it turned out. It was kind of a practice box. I intended to paint white cala lilies on a black background. So, I painted the whole box black. Then, I practiced the lilies. They looked decent on white paper. Later in the evening I sat down to paint the lilies on the box. Argh, it wouldn't look right. I repainted it three times, and wasted a lot of paint, just to discover it was a waste of time. So I painted red and white rose buds, with blue berries. I am not 100 percent pleased, but she loved it, and it isn't awful, so that is all that matters. I did try the lilies again, on a piece of my art paper, that I painted black, with the same unsatisfactory results. So, I have to do the Cala Lilies first, then paint in the black background, backwards from what I am used to. I think I need a new set of brushes as well. That will help with the stroke needed.

I finished one of the rompers to go with my next diaper cake. So far I have the blanket, a romper, and a toy all crocheted out. I will do one more romper, some beanie hats, and maybe a couple of wash cloths. Then I just need the diapers.

I have been on a sort of crafting, listing, and store editing blitz.  I want to be in school by Fall, so I am trying to get as much done with my free time, now as I can.

Garden Angel Fairy Acrylic Abstract Painting

I decided to go ahead and list my Garden Angel Fairy, just the way it was. I looked at it again, and decided I was satisfied. She is done in acrylics, and available to purchase in my Etsy store. A lot of people ask me why I don't paint on canvas. Well, for one I don't care for canvas, and I find it exceptionally hard to keep dust and dirt free. A framed piece is so much easier to keep clean, and move around. Plus canvas is a pain, and very expensive to ship. Those are my reasons.

Patriotic Red White and Blue Roses Abstract Art Limited Edition

I finally got to paint today! Next in my Americana series, are these beautiful Red, White and Blue roses, in the color of the US flag. I so love how these came out. I think I finally found the roses I love. Rather than trying One stroke method, and various other methods of painting roses. I drew the roses out lightly, with a pencil, then painted them in. This will be how I do roses from now on. My son was born on the 4th of July, so he especially loves this. This can be purchased in my Etsy store.

I also got to start painting my next painting in my Home Sweet Home series, which is Arizona.  It has been drawn out for some time.  Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow.  The butterfly and flower, for Arkansas, which will be next after Arizona, is exceptionally beautiful.  I also have a few angels I am waiting to draw out.

My very special crochet item, for baby, should be done soon, also.  Maybe this weekend.  My husband has a class all day Saturday, so the kids and I will be home all day.  I can get a lot done on the weekends, when we actually stay home.

Spring Is in the Air Bears Picnic Original Acrylic Painting

The snow has melted, in the fields, and the bears have come off the mountain to have a picnic by the stream, after a long winter sleep. I just finished this acrylic painting, on Monday. It would be perfect as nursery room art, a child's room, doctors office, or anyone who just loves cute bears. It is available for purchase, in my Ebay store. Be sure to check out all my art work.

Valentines Day Painted Cotton Napkins

I have two of these cotton napkins, but have only finished one so far. I have painted on cotton cloth before, but only once or twice, and I forgot how much paint you really need to do it. I drew the heart, vines and Bleeding Heart flowers, lightly with pencil first. Then painted using acrylics, and paint pens. I think I will add some tiny leaves on the vine with the flowers, but other than that I am pleased with these. Hopefully I will finish the second one tonight. I am also working on a crochet table cloth, that will have bleeding heart flower dangles. I have never crocheted them, so this could be interesting, lol. What are you working on right now?
