Society6 Christmas Board and a Neon Blue Apatite Bracelet

I love bracelets.  They are by far my favorite piece of jewelry to wear, besides rings.  The bracelet shown, can actually be worn as a choker, or a double wrap bracelet.  It is all done in genuine Neon Blue Apatite beads.  Such a beautiful color.  It is available in my Etsy store.  I just had another sale, in my Etsy store, so things are moving along nicely.  My BOGO sale ends on Jan 1, 2016, but I think I will have an after Christmas sale.  Below, you will see a link to my new collection, on Society6.  This is not just my art work, but art work of fellow artists, all with the theme of Christmas.  If you know someone who loves customized cell phone cases, skins, home decor, tees and other wonderful gift ideas, then be sure to check out my Society6 collection.  Mine are all called Melissa's Art, so look me up.  It is actually very time consuming to upload 4 years worth of paintings, and all the wonderful photographs I have taken over the years.  So, check back often.  The animals are all still my favorites.

Happy June! Pearl Is the Birthstone for June

Well, pearls and Alexandrite. I don't have any Alexandrite, sadly, to share with you. But, I have some pearl items to share. The bracelet shown is faux pearls, as is most of my jewelry pieces. Why? Because real pearls, are not as stable, hard to care for, and fragile. However, I should say every woman should own at least one beautiful set of genuine real pearls. I have some, but don't get to wear them much. This multi colored faux pearl bracelet is available in my Etsy store, with free shipping. Check it out.

I had a very fruitful day today. What crafting fun I had. I got two pairs of new flip flops painted, a couple crochet items, and a very special, and adorable Father's Day painting drawn out. I hopefully will get it painted this week. Stay tuned for all those items, and be sure to check out my Etsy store.

Make A Bracelet With Soda Tabs

Ok, I got sidetracked last week, and forgot to share more cool ways to recylce or upcycle items into jewelry, or other crafts. Below, is a tutorial on how to make a beautiful bracelet using soda tabs. I actually am going to do this, not exactly the one shown, but I love this idea. If you wire wrap, like me, well am learning, and you love cuff bracelets, then you know making the cuff out of wire can be a challenge, and a pain. So, I was thinking soda tabs might be a clever way around that problem. I probably won't video tape myself doing it, but I will share when I get around to it. I did a lot of crocheting last week, and I so loved the diaper cake, that I have started another one, a red and black one. Plus, I still have to finish the bathroom set I started, only the toilet cover is done. I found some very nice traditional jewelry settings on Etsy, that are on my list to get, and I just finished painting a garden Angel. I think I need to add something to it, or change something, before I share her. I was very pleased with how it came out though. Be sure, and visit my Etsy store too. I offer free USA shipping everyday, all year, and layaway if you need it.

Resin Bangle Bracelets?

I have been dying to get bangle molds, for resin. Well, I finally got two and could not wait to pour the resin. Let me tell you something, one they use a ton of resin. You would have to charge a small fortune to make these. Two, they are almost impossible to get out of the molds. I have had no issues, up until these. It took me, my son, and a nail file to finally get them out of the mold. I am not sure I will be using these again, at least not the thicker one. The other thing is the thinner bangle, is very small. I have a six inch wrist, and it would not even fit me. That means it would be for a child at best. I was so disappointed I wanted to cry. Then, I realized I put the embeds in wrong on the smaller bangle. So, I sealed it, placed a jar top on it to hold a candle, and voila a beautiful candle holder. Now, I would recommend that instead of putting the candle right in the top like I did, that you actually use a candle that is already in something to catch the wax. Otherwise the lid fills up after a couple of hours with wax, and can leak down the sides. The second, now candle holder, is much thicker, and has elephant beads embedded in it. The smaller one has lady cameos, and coral roses. I only have a very tiny bit of resin left, to make a couple of small pieces. So, I will be waiting to be sure what I want to make. In the meantime I have started a new baby cocoon, and continue to use the resin pieces I have already made to make them into various projects. I have several headbands done, and jewelry pieces too. I think I am going to list these two not bangles in my Etsy store, and see what kind of response I get.

Day 7 Flash Sale: Pink and White European Bead Bracelet Watch

For some reason my image will not upload.   Today, my sale is for a beautiful pink and white flower European style bead bracelet watch.  It is only $14.99 until 9 PM tonight.  You can purchase it either in my Etsy store, or my Ecrater store.  I only have one.

I finished on pair of slippers for the kids, and almost have the second pair done.  Just one more pair to go, for me.  Slippers are not that hard, but since I do not follow a pattern, it was a little more challenging.  I think I have it down now.  I will be sharing them, when they are all done.

Salvation Bracelets for Bible School

This week, I was asked to come up with a craft, that has to do with being thankful, for my daughter's bible class. Since I love to make jewelry, naturally I wanted some kind of bracelet. I came up with Salvation bracelets, and why you should be thankful for your salvation. The girls had such a ball making their bracelets. I bought the charms, beads, wire, and clasps all separate, but you could buy the whole kit by buying from the link below. Please remember to go to my Facebook page, like it, and share it if you would. I am planning a contest as soon as I hit 300 likes.

It Doesn't Matter If It's Black or White

This week, I am excited to say, I had four participants in my Theme Friday Facebook Challenge. I do a new theme each Friday, and if you want to join in just like my page and wait for Friday. This week the theme was, wait for it, Black and White. I got a nice selection of items to share with you. The first is the acrylic Panda Bear painting, perfect for the animal lover or child bedroom decor. Next are the cutest polymer clay Ghost Hair Pins. So cute for Halloween. Then a pair of earrings in Black Bows. Dangly and cute, but not overbearing. Then, and lots of people love button bracelets, an Infinity Button Bracelet, with all black buttons. Love them all. Wire Wrapped Cuff Bracelet, Lighthouse Painting and Moonlight Sail Painting

If you follow this blog, then you know I have not made any new jewelry pieces in a while. Last night I got out all the supplies to make a cuff bracelet today. I told myself I was going to paint, crochet and make a piece of jewelry. These Amethyst colored acrylic beads were the only beads large enough that I could use. I need to get some new beads, so I can make more of these. However, I do have watch faces, and may try that with some smaller beads in between. I had tried cuffs before, but couldn't get it quite right. Thanks to all free jewelry and this tutorial, I now know the basics of how to do it. I do not like a lot of wire, but I do like wire wrapping, just not too busy. I also painted this Moonlight Sail painting, which I absolutely love.  I had to use two coats of the blue paint, to get it as dark as I wanted.  I would have liked a navy color too, but that might have been too dark.  This was my first try, and I must say I did really good.  I started the lighthouse at sunrise, also, but it was a much lengthier painting than I anticipated.  It is about half done, and will be finished soon.  Be sure to check my Etsy store for all my fine items.  I offer a free layaway service, so shop now and pay as you go.

My New Theme Friday Etsy Finds

On my Facebook page, each week, I would do a Theme Friday post. Anyone who entered an item to fit the theme got in my Etsy Treasury on Saturday. I have been doing that for about a year now, and now I am bored with it, very bored. So, I thought I would use the power of blogging and social media to help boost Theme Friday items. The result is each member that submits an item to fit the theme will get it shared on my personal FB profile, Tweeted, Pinned, favorite on Etsy, and then each Saturday shared on this blog. Since I use traffic exchange to help with exposure to my blogs, this should help each item get lots of exposure. I only had two entries this week, plus mine of course. Check them out and visit each item in their respective stores. You never know you might find something you can not live without. This weeks theme was, Mother's Day Gifts 20 dollars or under.   The first item is mine, and it is on Clearance.  Be sure to check out all my Clearance items.  This is a new section in my store to hopefully get some inventory moving a bit faster.  All are less than what I paid to make the item including supplies and time.  Here is the link to the first item https://www.etsy.com/listing/50557952/clearance-raspberry-pink-rhodolite?  Grr I have no idea why I can not write right next to the picture.  Anyway the second candle is a soy candle.  If your mom loves candles check it out, awesome price too https://www.etsy.com/listing/130263156/cashmere-silk-downy-type-woodwick?ref=usr_faveitems   The third item is a lovely pink button and rose bracelet, again an awesome price.  Since they are all under 20 dollars they are all pretty awesome.  Here is the link for the bracelet https://www.etsy.com/listing/129606514/shades-of-pink-flower-button-bracelet?ref=usr_faveitems  If you would like to join in the Theme Friday topic, and get your items shown lots of love, click the large widget to the left that will lead you to my page, then just like the page and remember to check each Friday.
