Halloween Shot Glass Night Time at the Pumpkin Patch

I know, I know, I have not shared anything in a very long time.  Truth is I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my love for crafts, and art, and my limited time.  I will be setting a goal of posting at least once  a day, hopefully two.  I would like to do one post from my Cafe Press art pieces, and one post from my Etsy shop.  We will see.  Below is my art on a shot glass, perfect for anyone who loves Halloween decor, or for a Halloween party, or wedding.  Cafe Press currently has a site wide sale too.  Be sure and check out my other pieces.  I still have tons more of my art to add, again the time thing, and some of them need better editing too.  I am #missy69 on Cafe Press and Etsy.  So, I am real easy to find.  I have a new Etsy sale each month.  Christmas is coming, so you need a special gift I am sure.  Click Halloween Shot Glass Night Time at the Pumpkin Patch.

Art Challenge Day 11: Fear

With Halloween quickly approaching, I used my topic for fear to take advantage of that fact. I used a black plate to draw then paint the haunted house, zombie, tree, moon and witch onto the plate. This is so cool looking. The gold paint on the house makes the house look like it is melting. I had to used black for the witch silhouette because the gold paint pen just wouldn't show up good. This is all done with paint pens, which are safe to eat on, and safe to wash. They are not dish washer safe. Visit my Etsy store, to purchase, or view my other painted plates.

Cute, Fun, Frugal Halloween Lawn Decor

Did you know, if you get paid every two weeks, there is only like 5 or 6 more paychecks until Christmas? Oh my! I drew out the most beautiful Fall horse today, and I can't wait to paint it. If you are looking for team color peacocks, you might have to place a custom order, because I think I am going to continue with the horses, at least for now. That will actually be shared here on this blog, and my homeschool blog, as it was a co assignment with me and my daughter. Below you will see an adorable set of three pumpkins. The original Pinterest post showed these pumpkins kind of sitting sideways up a pole, or stick. I chose not to mess around with all that. I purchased three dollar plastic pumpkins. My kids don't trick or treat anymore, so there was no hope of be getting any leftovers, lol. Then I bought two mum plants, one a burgundy red, and the other white. I split the burgundy mum into three plants, actually, put two in the pumpkins, and one in the ground, the white one also went into a pumpkin. I do not purchase special dirt. I use my dirt from our burn pit, and add mulch, or vegetable clippings to the dirt. Last, but not least, I bought three solar lights, from the Dollar Tree, and placed one in each pumpkin, towards the back of the pumpkin. I hope you can see how really pretty they are in the dark. So, I think I spent, maybe 15 dollars total. Once it gets closer to Christmas I will just put the plants into the ground.

Newborn Infant Baby Boy Bear Crochet Hat and Pants Halloween Photo Prop

This could technically be for a baby girl, but I will be doing a set with a dress and hat, so that will definitely be for a little girl. This is a two piece baby bear set, the hat and the pants all crocheted. My baby doll is way too small to fit the pants properly, but this is for a newborn to three months. This would make an adorable Halloween costume, photo prop, or just every day cuteness to wear. This is available in my Etsy shop right now. Click here, to see it.

Wood Burned Halloween Picture Frame with A Bat, Spider, and Ghost

This is my second wood burned picture frame, and my third over all wood burning project. The first one had a wedding/anniversary theme, this one is for Halloween. I left a space at the bottom of the frame to have a date wood burned in, or a name. This will be available in my Etsy shop, on Friday July 17, 2015. From here on out, or until I decide otherwise, all relisted items, and new items will be listed on the weekends. So, be sure to favorite my shop, or this blog, to keep up with new items. I also will do custom requests. Starting today, I am starting a new feature in my shop. Every day a new item will be slashed in price, and featured on all my social network feeds. Today, is a Monarch butterfly painting. It is still available, as of this post, at the sale price of $12.50 with free USA shipping. Just do a search for butterfly, and you will find it. Heads up for tomorrow, it will be a Ruby piece of jewelry.  Ruby is the birthstone for July.  Click here to visit my Etsy shop.

Etsy Christmas in July is Over

Well, the Etsy Christmas in July event is over.  I had three sales during the time period my coupon was running, about one month.  That is very good.  This is my first year participating in the Christmas in July event, and as long as I have the time I will do it next year too.  It is a lot of time, and work, and I didn't get to put in as much time as I would have liked to, but still a success.  Thank you to all the Etsy shops who participated, and supported each other.  I hope they all had some sales too.  Now, it is time to start getting my creative juices flowing for back to school, and Halloween.  Monday, is my day to paint, and wood burn, so I will be doing something new with those two mediums.  I also started an adorable Halloween baby bear costume for an infant boy, or girl.  I can not wait to see how it comes out.  I also have to get our homeschool portfolios together, that is a week project at least.  I guess I will be busy.  That is good, because it is too humid and icky to be outside.  You can always check out my shop by clicking the My Etsy Store widget, in the left hand column.  I offer free USA shipping, layaway, and of course custom requests.

For All You Spider Lovers Hot Pink and Neon Blue 3D Spiders

I know there are people who love spiders. I can't say I love them. I leave them alone, as long as they are not in the house. I was bitten by a Brown Recluse two years ago, so I have a respect for them that others may not. One day, while in my local Dollar Tree, I found these awesome spider molds. Of course I bought them. I made these lovely hot pink, and neon blue resin spiders. They both have had a hole drilled, and a wire wrapped bail. These could be worn as a pendant, hung on a Halloween or Christmas tree, or a keyring applied for a super cool keychain. Check them out in my Etsy store. I only have the two shown, so you will have one of a kind pieces.

For My Halloween Loving Readers Hanted Houses A Witch and A Pumpkin Patch Tangle Doodle Art

My daughter and I are looking forward to Fall, and decorating for the season. Of course Halloween is in Fall. I have been working on some new items for Halloween, and Fall. The two glass bottles, are done with a Halloween theme. The witch with her cat and tangle doodle full moon, and the mast that looks deceptively like a butterfly, are both going into my garden with a solar light in them. I have two bottles left, and by request of my daughter one will have a bunny with daisies. I have not decided for the last one. The Haunted House is done in ancient tangle flower patterns. It is actually really pretty for a haunted house. The second painting, I just finished Monday. I wanted a black and white look, with a little color. So, I painted the pumpkin patch at night, with a few critters. I have one other haunted house painting in my store. You can purchase all my Halloween paintings by visiting my Etsy Store.

Completed Crochet Boys Viking Hat for Halloween and The Grinch

I finished my son's crochet Viking Hat. He is studying Vikings for History right now, so I decided to make him a hat for Halloween. Not sure how the rest of the clothes are going to go, but we will see. It isn't like the Vikings were real fashionistas. This is a made to order item, in my Etsy store. You can pick your color and size. Then I finished my baby Grinch cocoon with hat. I am working on Cindy Lou Who right now. I love the Grinch, one of my all time favorite Christmas specials, next to Charlie Brown. You can purchase either of these items by visiting my Etsy store. I offer a free layaway service as well and am accepting offers until Christmas. Unless you offer me something completely ludicrous, chances are good I will accept.

Theme Friday: Halloween

I think I might have to stop the Theme Fridays for a bit. Now that we are back in homeschool mode, I just don't seem to have the time to dedicate to it. I am doing my first vendor fair, next Sat, and am excited by that. Then, the following Sat, my mom and I are going to start a monthly garage sale/craft sale, where we sell garage sale items and our handmade items too. It seems to make more sense to use my garage than to open a shop somewhere and pay rent and utilities fees. We will be doing it on one Sat a month. I hope it does well. The theme this week, is Halloween or Fall. I have three awesome items to share with you. You can go to each Etsy shop, by clicking the corresponding link. First is a European style Halloween bracelet, next is a counted cross stitch Witch and cat table runner, and finally is a cute orange and black crochet baby witch hat. How cute are all these?

DIY Paint Your Doors with Acrylics for Fall

I think I am getting trees down pretty good now. Still having a hard time with large leaves. I want them to look a certain way, but I am pleased with them so far. The spooky house and tree was painted onto my front door yesterday. From start to finish, including clean up, it took about three hours. The nice thing about the front door is that I can be inside, in the air conditioning, while I do it. The second door took about 90 minutes, the back door, and I had to stand outside to do it. Granted it is in a screened porch, but it was still mighty hot here in Florida. The squirrel is being removed, because not what I want. Never painted a squirrel before, but I do have a picture in a book as a model. I think I will add some other Fall critters too, like a deer, owl or cat. I paint from free hand. The only time I draw something out, is if it is small and a very specific shape I need. Then I just draw the basic outline and that is it. I have started just light drawing where I want to place things in a painting, just for perspective. These will stay on the doors, until they come off. I will have to use another door for Christmas, lol. So far I have done these two doors, a bathroom shower wall, a living room wall and the back of the front door has a Thankful tree on it. All of these things can be seen in this blog, by doing a search of the archives. I would have a whole forest of trees painted on my walls by now, if it just didn't take so long, and break my back. What do you think of my doors?

It Doesn't Matter If It's Black or White

This week, I am excited to say, I had four participants in my Theme Friday Facebook Challenge. I do a new theme each Friday, and if you want to join in just like my page and wait for Friday. This week the theme was, wait for it, Black and White. I got a nice selection of items to share with you. The first is the acrylic Panda Bear painting, perfect for the animal lover or child bedroom decor. Next are the cutest polymer clay Ghost Hair Pins. So cute for Halloween. Then a pair of earrings in Black Bows. Dangly and cute, but not overbearing. Then, and lots of people love button bracelets, an Infinity Button Bracelet, with all black buttons. Love them all. To check them out, and buy them if you wish, click each highlighted link.

Theme Friday Peridot Green

Theme Friday post for 8/9/2013 Peridot Green. Since my birthday is in August, and Peridot is the birthstone for August, I decided to do a lime green Theme Friday. Each week, on my Facebook page, I offer up a theme. Anyone can share an item that fits the theme. Each item shared gets tweeted, pinned and shared on my personal FB page, then gets a post right here on this blog each Saturday. Sound fun? Then join in! This week I got two items to share. A Kermit the Frog green crocheted baby cocoon with hat. This would make a great photo prop, Halloween costume, or just to keep baby warm while sleeping. Next, is a lovely Lime Green and Teal Bottle Cap necklace. These are so cute and would make awesome gifts or stocking stuffers. Keep some handy for those surprise birthday parties. Click each highlighted link to go to their respective Etsy stores to buy or browse some more. Thanks for looking. Leave me a comment. I love comments.
