Newborn Infant Warm Halloween Cocoon Costumes for Baby

I have not had time to relist, or list any new or old inventory. I did not get to paint this week, though I have two projects started. I did get to crochet some cute angel bookmarks, which are much easier than the cross bookmarks, and they will be listed in my Etsy store soon. I also have a pink and purple little girl first birthday cake in the works, that will include pull ups, instead of diapers, and a crochet skull tablecloth also in the works. You would think I would finish one project before starting another. But, I hate scrap yarn lying around, so I am finding small projects to use them up on.

If you have a newborn, or infant, then Halloween can be really cold. Some people love to dress their babies up, and take them out trick or treating. I have a whole line of baby cocoons with Halloween type themes, that will have baby looking adorable and stay nice and warm. There is one example below, for a mermaid, but click here to see the rest of them in my Etsy shop. They make great photo props too.

Team Support and Promote Red Theme Blogpost

Only two participants again this month.  Running a blog doesn't take a lot of time, and it is a wonderful way to share your knowledge and creativity.  I am a leader for Team Support and Promote on Etsy, and this is the third team blog post.  The theme was fire hot, because it has been so stinking hot.  Below you will see the two items shared, and links to visit each store.

Lime Green, Kermit Green, Peridot Green Crocheted Infant Baby Frog Snuggle Buddy

This is the fourth snuggle buddy I have made. They are all available in my store. I still want to do a puppy, and a kitty with better ears. I love this color green too. It looks a lot like Peridot, the birth stone for August. It is vibrant and lively. This is big enough that an infant or toddler could easily carry it around with them. I think these would also be adorable for a new puppy just leaving its mother, or kitten. Full grown pets probably would love to chew it, lol. These are just fun to make. I will be starting the baby cocoon that will have some pink fluffy trim. It could be paired with the angel wings I shared earlier. I also started, last night, a blanket that I just fell in love with. It probably will take me forever to complete. I have jewelry to share, and more to make too. Plus, I am still painting.

Graduation Money Jar and Zentangled Wine Bottle Solar Garden Light

I am behind on sharing my Zentangle challenge pieces. If you don't know what Zentangle is, it is basically a fancy word for doodling. I joined an Ancient Art Zentangle group on Facebook, and each week a new set of patterns to use are posted and you design your own art piece. The first one is a bear. It is painted on a recycled, now upcycled into a solar garden light. After painting on the design my pieces are sealed twice and set in the sun to seal more. Then I took a solar garden stake, from the Dollar Tree, inserted into the jar, so the solar part is sticking out and then put it in the garden. I now have five solar garden lights completed. I think I have five more wine bottles left. They are all different designs, and you can see them in this blog. I think I am going to list them in my Etsy store as made to order only.

The second piece, is a recycled, now upcycled glass pickle jar. First I sealed the bare jar. This was an experiment to see if it helps the paint go on smoother with less streaking, and yes it works quite well. I still added three layers of purple paint as the base coats. Then I used an owl stencil, won't do that again, and tangled the owl. At first I was very disappointed, but I outlined the eyes and beak a bit better, and that satisfied me. Then on the other side, I painted the saying You're A Smartie, tangled the words, and class of 2014 at the very bottom. Last but not least, I added some tangled borders on the sides, and top. The lid was painted purple and a smartie candy super glued to it. I filled it with Smartie candies for the party, and she can reuse it for anything she wants. A money jar at her graduation party this weekend, would be awesome I think. Jars can be used to store so many different things. Again, I think I am going to list these as made to order for birthdays, graduations and weddings. I am sure Baby and Wedding showers would be awesome too.

I am caught up now, on the Zentangle posts. Now to get the rest of them done, lol. I am working on a super cute infant baby boy cocoon, so be sure to watch for that in the near future. I will also be having some new, and unique resin pieces to share.

Snuggle Bunny Buddy

This was a fairly easy project to make, even for my first time. I had been wanting to make these for what seems like forever. I did not have enough of the main color, to make the blanket as big as I wanted, so I added an antique white, then the bunny was done in white, and ears and arms in the main color. I am really pleased with how it came out. This snuggle friend is available in my Etsy store. Perfect gift for a newborn, or toddler, and no loose items for baby to choke on, completely safe. I am going to donate some of my old items, that have not sold, to organizations that take handmade baby items. I just have not found one yet, which is really sad. I shall keep looking, however. I might have to contact my local hospitals and clinics.

Auctions are Coming to This Blog!

So, I have been thinking of ways to increase my traffic, and sales, and I am going to be starting some auctions on this blog.  I will advertise the auction on other sites, but the actual bidding will take place here. Here is how it will work:

Every other Friday, I will share an item, from my Etsy store that will be auctioned off.  All bids will be low, with one dollar increasing increments.  Shipping and handling and all info will be listed.  If you are the winner a Paypal invoice will be sent to you from me.  When you bid, you must leave a legitimate Paypal account email address.  If you bid and do not pay for the item, I will block you from all future auctions.  Bids are to be made in the comments, and the auctions will run until Sunday night at 9PM Eastern time, at which time I will close the auction to bidding and contact the winner.  The winner will have three days to respond to me with payment, or to arrange payment.  I will ship to USA, Great Britain, and Canada.  Canada and Great Britain bidders need to have a verified Paypal account.  If you have any questions please ask them in the comments, before you bid.

I hope this will be fun and a great way to get exposure to my Etsy store, and this blog.  First auction starts this Friday, March 7th, 2014 at 9 AM.  All times are Eastern time and the clocks do spring ahead that weekend, so keep that in mind.

Baby Sea Turtle Abstract Art

If you look at this painting you will notice it has two dates on it. That is because I painted the circles, when I had a desire to learn more about Abstract Art. Then I just set it aside, thinking, yuck I don't even like it. Well I was going through some of my older pieces of art, deciding what to do with them, and I decided to paint some baby sea turtles onto the circles. Now this abstract I love. It is done in acrylics, and would make cute nursery art. I will be doing some more abstracts similar to this type of theme. I actually have a ton of finished resin pieces to share and list in my stores, just have not had the time to catch up. Soon, so watch for them. Some of them are really unique and cool. This painting is available to purchase in my Etsy store,

Luck of the Irish Infant Baby Cocoon with Hat

I just finished this new infant baby cocoon. The cocoon is Forest Green with Antique White trim. I was going to make the hat, but then I found this adorable Irish hat at the store. The hat is plastic and has a string to keep it on. This piece will be in my Etsy store, and Ecrater store,  in the next few minutes. It is for a newborn infant. I just finished some cute new painted gift bags, that I will share in the next few days.

Happy New Year or Snowman Infant Cocoon with Top Hat

I hurried to finish this before my Craft Fair this Saturday, and got it finished today. It can either be a Snowman set or Happy New Year, and I have to say this top hat would look as cute on a small dog or cat as a baby. I will have to make more of these. The hat takes almost three hours to complete itself. To see all the images visit my Etsy store. The cocoon is off white with a blue scarf to match the ribbon around the top hat. It is so cute. I will be shortly be beginning work on two cocoons for Christmas, that I just can not wait to see how they come out. If there is anything you want in my store, put it on Layaway, or purchase because my shop will be put on vacation for a week, for the two craft fairs. I am taking all my items with me, so better check for your favorites before the 13th.

Theme Friday Peridot Green

Theme Friday post for 8/9/2013 Peridot Green. Since my birthday is in August, and Peridot is the birthstone for August, I decided to do a lime green Theme Friday. Each week, on my Facebook page, I offer up a theme. Anyone can share an item that fits the theme. Each item shared gets tweeted, pinned and shared on my personal FB page, then gets a post right here on this blog each Saturday. Sound fun? Then join in! This week I got two items to share. A Kermit the Frog green crocheted baby cocoon with hat. This would make a great photo prop, Halloween costume, or just to keep baby warm while sleeping. Next, is a lovely Lime Green and Teal Bottle Cap necklace. These are so cute and would make awesome gifts or stocking stuffers. Keep some handy for those surprise birthday parties. Click each highlighted link to go to their respective Etsy stores to buy or browse some more. Thanks for looking. Leave me a comment. I love comments.

Day 24 Paint Your Favorite Animal #30DOC

Today for Day 24 of the, 30 Days of Creativity Challenge, the kids and I each painted our favorite animal. I love baby sea turtles, adults too actually. So, I painted just hatched baby sea turtles making a run for safety, the water. DJ did a Panda Bear, another favorite animal of mine. Caitlin did a White Tiger mother and baby, and yes another favorite of mine. I guess I don't have a favorite animal, lol! I love them all, but especially baby animals. I also continue to work on the new baby blanket I am making. It will have a Polar Bear on it. I did not like the pattern I was following. In the pattern you made 15 squares and then sew them all together. Ugh way too tedious. But, I did love the new stitch I learned. So, I just made my own pattern using that stitch, and that is what I worked on today. The kids and I got a lot done today. Both creative and not so creative. Were you creative today?

Be sure to check out all my items, including newly created Clearance section. The widget to reach my store is at the top of this blog.

Day 1: 30DOC Theme Toys

I am once again participating in the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge. I pledge that every day, for thirty days in June, I will create something each day. There are themes you can follow, or you can do as you wish. I do try to follow along with the themes. Creative can mean different things to different people. You probably create stuff everyday and don't even realize it. Some things are planned and some are just naturally occurring. Companies pay people big bucks to be creative in advertising. I homeschool my children, and I need to be creative not only in the lessons I give them, but in the way I teach the lessons. One of the things that bugged me most about public school, is that it was so boring in the sense of the way the material was presented. It could be so much more creative. My kids and I, will be sharing varieties of creativeness through, learning, teaching, photography, art, crochet, paint and upcycling. One of our favorite ways to be creative is to find ways to reuse things. I will be sharing all kinds of neat stuff. But, for today, Day One, the theme is Toys. I crocheted this baby infant play mat with an aquatic theme. As you can see it is not quite complete. I ran out of time, lol. This mat will stimulate baby visually and through touch. Each yarn used has a different texture and thickness, as well as color. He or she will be able to feel the types of yarn and touch the fishies, which of course won't have all those strings hanging off them. This will be available in my Etsy store once it is completed. What did you create for day 1? Tomorrow the theme is spiders. Since I work third shift on Saturdays I will get a late start tomorrow and will have to whip up something quick. Even I can't wait to see what I come up with, lol!
